GWO Initial Training - So having just completed my GWO Initial Training at Fleetwood Nautical College - great bunch of folk! I would like to dispel the wrongly held notion amongst many of the Oil & Gas folk on here that the OPITO BOSIET is just as good as GWO so why the need for additional training? Well it is NOT the same. The GWO deals with Working at Height (Up turbine masts etc) and all the Working at Height training for climbing safely. The OPITO BOSIET does not. GWO doesn't include helicopter ditching or CABS as the method of transfer is most likely crew vessels, so transfer to ladders etc IS included. There are many other differences but to be fair the only real duplication is the First Aid module.
