I’ll say it now, I’ll say it a month from now, a year from now, and always. We’re mostly fortunate enough to have resources whether we’re hourly or salary when working on a W-2. Use them. Reach out unapologetically. Take the time off that you need. Ask your Leader, HR, peers for more info around your company’s PTO & Leave policies, and take that time away. The business will be and operate as a business per usual, even without you. Your mental health and well-being will always come first. If you’ve ever been a people pleaser like me to the point of nearly sabatoging your own boundaries and happiness, this is for you. If you’re seeing this, this is for you ✨ It is MORE than okay, to respectfully put your foot down and ask/say— •I am NOT okay. •I need help. •I need resources. •Where do I start? •I need just an extra couple days away. •What can I do to make me, a better me, so that I can be the LEADER/Friend/Daughter/Mother that they deserve me to be? •My mind is cluttered. •I haven’t been able to grieve. •I’ve completely lost myself. Operating like a robot isn’t healthy. YOU are not a robot. You are a human being that deserves your down time, and away time. We spend nearly 64,000 hours of our lives working, (and that’s IF you work a normal 8-hour day) Be the best type of selfish for you, for once 🙂
