So many people are unhappy and miserable, because they fail to choose themselves. They choose to fulfill the happiness, desires, and needs of others and then expect it to be returned. Expecting yourself in other people is the guaranteed one-way ticket to suffering, disappointment, pain, and misery. You need to learn how to liberate yourself by choosing yourself. How? By having your own back, approving and validating yourself, enjoying being alone with yourself and taking full responsibility for the way you think feel and act. Many people don’t want to be accountable and choose to blame others instead and wait for them to make them happy. As a therapist, I have a front row seat to how people see themselves and it’s usually not in a positive way. It’s through the conditioned lenses of judgment and criticism where they magnify their flaws and fixate on their mistakes. It’s my job as their therapist to help them see beyond and beneath to their true form, their inner essence.
