Yesterday, I had the opportunity to present our recent paper at #ADDS2024: "SciKit Digital Health Package for Accelerometry-Measured Physical Activity: Comparisons to Existing Solutions and Investigations of Age Effects in Healthy Adults." This study benchmarks the SciKit Digital Health (SKDH): open-source Python package for wearable data analysis, against well-known solutions such as GGIR and GENEActiv Macros/Rmarkdown, demonstrating how accelerometry data can improve our understanding of physical activity metrics across different ages. Our findings represent a significant step towards enabling patient-centric clinical trials with digital health technologies, paving the way for innovative approaches like Bring-Your-Own-Device studies. The role of #OpenSource Software in advancing #ClinicalResearch through collaboration, transparency, and efficiency cannot be overstated, as it brings together diverse minds to solve complex problems. 🙏 Special thanks to my #PfizerColleagues and coauthors: Wenyi Lin, F. Isik Karahanoglu, Charmaine Demanuele, Xuemei Cai, Mar Santamaria, Junrui Di, Lukas Adamowicz A special shoutout to 🌟Junrui Di🌟for the meticulous review and edits of presentation. 🙏 Thank you Christine Cong Guo, Genevieve Baley, Jeremy Wyatt, ActiGraph for the invitation. 🙏 I am deeply grateful to Tim McCarthy, Subha Madhavan, Carrie Northcott, Xuemei Cai, Charmaine Demanuele, Robert "Joe" Mather for their leadership in advancing our field.
