🌟 Congratulations to St. Petersburg College (SPC)! 🌟 SPC’s Midtown Center recently hosted Governor Ron DeSantis’s press conference, where he announced an impressive $7.2 million investment into the college’s workforce development and infrastructure program. This funding, provided through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund and the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant, will be used to develop a state-of-the-art 4.0 Lab at SPC’s Midtown campus and expand its short-term training programs in semiconductors, mechatronics, automation, and robotics. The City of St. Petersburg was there to applaud this tremendous win for St. Pete, our community, and our youth. Win, win, win! 🎉 This significant investment is a crucial step in advancing opportunities for youth in St. Pete, preparing them for high-wage jobs in cutting-edge fields. 🌟 Privileged to Welcome 400 Youth to St. Pete Strong! 🌟 Recently I had the immense privilege of welcoming about 400 incredible youth to a day of career exploration at the "2024 St. Pete Strong Youth Conference." This event, a Dream Faith Foundation initiative founded by the inspiring Deonte Thompson, is dedicated to providing our youth with exposure to diverse professions and essential life skills through empowerment workshops, panel discussions, and guest speakers. The City of St. Petersburg is proud to support St. Pete Strong, recognizing the critical role it plays in shaping the future of our youth. As we focus on the importance of STEM and the evolving landscape of careers, events like St. Pete Strong are essential in preparing our youth for success. Accepting an award on behalf of the City was a moment of reciprocated joy between the City and Dream Faith Foundation.
