Our GM Japan team recently hosted another Chevrolet Fan Day at the Fuji International Speedway with over 500 customers driving their Chevys on this iconic racetrack, located near the scenic Mount Fuji. It was definitely the perfect place to launch the electrified Corvette E-Ray in Japan – and the customer orders have already started to pour in! A fun fact that demonstrates the extent of the love for Chevrolet and Cadillac in Japan is that even though the roads are right-hand drive, driving a left-hand drive car is seen as something special, that make people stand out. Our customers definitely stand out driving these cool cars we sell there! #IworkforGM

Being a parent is one of the most fulfilling – and also hardest – jobs in the world. Guiding another human being through life and helping form their character is a huge responsibility that deserves recognition. We use Linkedin to share professional updates, but with the Father’s Day celebrations this Sunday, I believe it’s important to stop and reflect on the profound role of this other important “job” in shaping the future of the world. This weekend, I not only celebrated my father – I also recommit to continue passing the invaluable lessons I’ve learned from him to my kids. Happy Father’s Day to all incredible fathers out there: you are helping to build a brighter future!

Our GMC brand and the Middle East are both known for their groundbreaking technology and rugged beauty. Which is why it’s very satisfying to announce the expansion of our GMC lineup in the region with the introduction of three vehicles that embody the innovation, capability, and awe-inspiring visuals of the Middle East: the much-anticipated GMC HUMMER EV, a new generation of the Acadia AT4 and the Canyon AT4X. Media recently experienced these vehicles in the UAE and shared their first reactions with us for the video below. With over half a million connected vehicles in Brazil, OnStar is now partnering with real-life heroes to save lives. Our General Motors South America team recently welcomed a group of firefighters to our Indaiatuba Proving Ground for a specialized training session focused on enhancing their techniques and leveraging OnStar for rescue operations. They were particularly impressed by how OnStar can quickly help locate a vehicle after an accident - even if the occupants are incapacitated - which allows first responders to reach the victims faster. This is a great example of how a higher purpose can help technology fulfill its ultimate potential. Congrats GM South America team on a great initiative! #IworkforGM

With nothing less than 110,000 coffees and teas served over the past year, the Notredame Bakery recently celebrated its first anniversary as the onsite go-to coffee spot for General Motors Korea employees at the Bupyeong plant – proudly promoting diversity and inclusion along the way. At last year’s grand opening, I had the opportunity to meet the staff, all members of the disabled community, and hear how they were looking forward to developing their culinary and barista skills through their work at the bakery. One year later, Notredame Bakery continues to serve as a testament to the power of inclusion, integrating the value of diversity into the daily lives of our people. I’m looking forward to returning and having another strawberry smoothie! #IworkforGM

These last couple of weeks I’ve been deeply moved by the incredible solidarity and compassion of our General Motors family during the terrible floods that have affected millions of people in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, home of one of our GM plants and of thousands of our employees, suppliers, and dealers.   Led by local corporate giving Instituto General Motors, our people have volunteered their time, loaned GM vehicles to aid rescue efforts, and put together the biggest fund-raising initiative we’ve ever had in the country, with R$1 million donated to local nonprofits.   Our team in North America and around the world has also contributed with donations, and OnStar is enabling Emergency Services and in-vehicle Wi-Fi free of charge for all our customers in the region - so they can stay connected and safe on the roads.   To our GM family: thank you for everything you have done. This very much needed help is already being directed to those who need it most.   But more support is still needed.
