I had the privilege of attending the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Conference on the #MediationAct2023, where distinguished representatives of the legal community shared their insights on the significance and recent developments in mediation. The esteemed panel included Supreme Court Advocate and Mediator Varuna Bhandari Gugnani Ma’am, former Delhi High Court Judge Hon'ble Justice M.L. Mehta, and current Judge Hon'ble Justice Dr. Sudhir Jain. Their expertise and perspectives shed light on the nuances of this innovative legal landscape. The profound remark by Hon'ble Justice M.L. Mehta, "mediation is here to stay," resonated deeply, capturing the essence of mediation's role in conflict resolution. He drew a parallel between lawyers and doctors, both aimed at facilitating resolution and healing in their respective domains, which aptly encapsulated the spirit of mediation. Additionally, I attended an intriguing panel discussion on mediation moderated by esteemed legal professionals Sameer Shah Sir, Gitanjali Kapoor Ma'am, Sandhya Kohli Ma’am Sujoy Datta Sir, and Tanmay Bhargav Sir. This panel offered crucial real-life insights into mediation scenarios, highlighting how the new law strengthens its application. This was chaired by Rishi K Kapoor Sir, Sameet Gambhir Sir, Sandeep Dinodia Sir and P K Rustagi Sir. I am grateful to Dr. Mohd Salim Sir for providing me with this fantastic opportunity to attend the conference and engage in an enlightening discussion on mediation. The intriguing panel discussion, moderated by esteemed legal professionals, offered crucial real-life insights into mediation scenarios, highlighting how the new law strengthens its application.
