𝗠𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱 → 👨💻❤️ Although my journey as a Software Engineer started with Nokia, after a while, my learning here got stagnant. I planned to make a switch and started applying. But for a long time, I didn’t get any response from any recruiter. For me, even a ‘No’ would’ve worked, but not getting my Resume shortlisted was an eye-opener. So here are my top 2 things that helped me immensely in getting an interview call→ 𝟭. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆: Since my resume was the first thing that any recruiter would see, I started building projects and didn't focus solely on problem-solving and DSA. I made sure to mention the Projects I worked on during my job at Nokia & the personal projects that I built. ✅ This ultimately helped the interviewers to have an idea about my development skills. 𝟮. 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆: Today, major product companies, have an ATS system, that shortlists the resume based on keywords. So, even if I had a great resume, it wouldn’t pop up as a shortlisted one, because I might have missed an important keyword. ❌ ✅ To improve this, I made sure to fine-tune my resume every time I applied for a particular position. Culture Clash: A Gen Z Fresher in the Corporate World So, here I am, a fresh-faced Gen Z grad, coming straight from the meme-filled halls of college to the (slightly) more formal world of work has been an adjustment, to say the least. Almost three months into my first corporate job and it's been a whirlwind of learnings (and a few minor existential crises)! Apparently, subject lines are more than just clickbait headlines (looking at you, every YouTube channel ever). And forget emojis in professional emails – lesson learned. But I'm learning the art of crafting the perfect subject line (emphasis on learning). Deadlines are real, people! I knew that, but the intensity is different. There's been a few late nights (fueled by caffeine, naturally) to meet targets. Still trying to figure out that elusive work-life balance everyone talks about. Maybe it involves mastering the art of the silent "nope" to after-work drinks when I'm already mentally checked out? The dress code is another adventure. I miss the days of expressing myself with crazy socks and OOTD pics, but hey, professionalism is key. Though, I gotta say, business casual doesn't have to be boring. Maybe a pop of color in a tie or some statement earrings? The best part, though, has definitely been the people. My team is amazing! They're super patient with my never-ending questions (and occasional tech blunders) and always willing to share their knowledge. Plus, they get my Gen Z references! Gen Z might have a reputation for wanting it all and wanting it now, but we're also a bunch of fast learners. We adapt, we collaborate, and we bring a fresh perspective (and maybe a few too many memes) to the table. The corporate world might not be all ping pong tables and nap pods, but it's an experience, and hey, who knows, we might even change it a bit along the way. There's definitely a curve to climbing this corporate ladder, but I'm excited to see where it takes me. This led me to Customer Success, where a leader, Cory Barnes, took a chance on me. 🌟 Light-Touch Segment Beginnings: Starting in the light-touch segment, I discovered the dynamic and ever-evolving world of Customer Success. A role where boredom is unheard of, where continuous learning is the norm, and where every day brings an opportunity to be better and help others. 📈 Rising to the Strategic Team: Progressing to the Strategic team, I now collaborate with our top accounts. Thought of the day 💭 “Appreciation comes in different forms and sizes but it definitely feels reached when the receiving ends have acknowledged it.” Appreciation ကိုဘယ်လိုနည်းနဲပဲပြပြ လက်ခံတဲ့သူဘက်ကလဲ သူ့ကို appreciate ဖြစ်တယ်ဆိုတာကို acknowledge လုပ်မှသာ appreciation က well received ဖြစ်တယ်လို့ ယူဆလို့ရပါတယ်။ “The appreciation should be shown to those who deserve, so that, even if they are on the verge of losing themselves, they can see there is someone who see their efforts. Who knows an appreciation could change a person’s POV.” အဲ့လိုပဲ appreciation ကို ထိုက်တန်တဲ့သူတွေကို သူတို့က ထိုက်တန်ကြောင်းကို ပြဖို့လိုပါတယ်။ အဲ့ဒါမှသာ သူတို့ရဲ့ effort တွေကို appreciate လုပ်တဲ့သူရှိပါလားဆိုတဲ့ sense လေးကို ရပြီး သူတို့ရဲ့ job/career ပေါ်မှာထားတဲ့ POV လဲ ပြောင်းသွားနိုင်ပါတယ်။ That’s my ToTD (Thought of the day)! Today is a very satisfying day for some of the colleagues from NEX4 since they have advanced a position or two in their career milestones. They have provided their best efforts to the projects despite some constraints during project periods. Their contributions really led to the successful projects that lead to customers’ satisfaction regarding with our services. That is a very satisfying matter to look back to in our company’s POV. So, of course, to those who showcased their respective skill sets and interpersonal skills are marked as deserved for promotions and promoted to a more compatible positions. As a colleague, I’m very excited for them and feel proud of them. Two of my team members are also promoted to a well-deserved positions and their promotions make me feel over the moon. Definitely, we, humans won’t be satisfied with what we have most of the time. So, in the world of unsatisfied matters, if an appreciation (as in any kind of; promotions, words of appreciation, salary increments) is provided to those who deserve and is being acknowledged, it is the best thing a team leader or a colleague could have done.✅ #thoughtoftheday #appreciationmatters

"From Rejections to Resilience: My Journey to Coditas!" 🚀 After facing numerous rejections, I felt down but remained determined, continuously working hard and preparing for the best opportunity. When I applied for the Associate Software Engineer Intern position at Coditas via LinkedIn, I sensed this could be my chance. Receiving an email that my resume was shortlisted for the Group Discussion round brought a mix of happiness and anxiety—would I be a good fit here? 🤔 As I progressed through each interview stage, my confidence grew. The interviewers appreciated my efforts, and I realized I was just as capable as any other candidate—it was all about the right timing. Finally, after successfully completing all the rounds, I was overjoyed, knowing that my hard work had truly paid off. 🎉 ✨ The Interview Journey ✨ 🔵 1️⃣ Group Discussion Round: We were grouped into teams of 5-6 students, and the topic given was "Doomscrolling: Is it Good or Bad?" 📱 After 2-3 minutes of preparation, we presented our views. The discussion was engaging, and I felt confident in my delivery. 💬 🔵 2️⃣ Technical Round L1: The interviewer began with introductions, followed by 2-3 easy-to-medium level coding questions, OOP concepts, and SQL queries. I made sure to explain my concepts clearly—line-by-line analysis helped immensely! 💻 The positive feedback I received boosted my confidence even further. 💪 🔵 3️⃣ Technical Round L2: This round involved solving medium-to-hard level coding questions, discussing my projects in detail, tackling 2-3 puzzles, and a comprehensive resume analysis. The interviewer’s detailed questions challenged me but also made the session insightful. 🧠 I was thrilled to move on to the final round! 🔍 🔵 4️⃣ Communication Round: The final round was a more relaxed discussion. I introduced myself, and we discussed behavioral questions like "What would you do if...?" scenarios, along with my extracurricular activities. The conversation flowed naturally, wrapping up the process on a positive note. 😊 A few days later, I received the call I had been eagerly awaiting—HR informed me that I had been selected for the Associate Software Engineer Intern position! 🎉 I am now in the process of completing my onboarding, and I’m incredibly excited to officially start this new chapter at Coditas. 🌟 🌟 Reflecting on the Journey 🌟 This experience has been wonderful, with everyone from the interviewers to the Talent Acquisition team being incredibly supportive. 🙌 Persistence, patience, and hard work are key—there are no shortcuts to success. Last year, I applied to over 200 opportunities. After numerous applications, I received interview calls from 2-3 places and finally got an offer. This means my apply-to-offer ratio is around 0.5 percent, or even lower.📈 I'm sure many of you can relate to applying and not receiving any response. But does that mean we should stop applying? After working with NCR Corporation for 1 year, I started giving interviews in product based companies. The fear of whether I had sufficient skills, and if I was prepared enough was always there. Many times, my past rejections brought fear that this interview will end up the same way. To overcome this fear, I gave many mock interviews with friends and also on various platforms. And sometimes treated the interviews in which I was rejected as mock interviews :) Then I improved on the weak points by maintaining consistency in practice and learning from my mistakes in these interviews.
