According to the ICC, the winners of T20 World Cup 2024 will receive the highest prize money in the history of the tournament. In the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and America, 20 teams will compete against each other for 28 days. The final winning team will get $2.45 million. This is many times more than the last World Cup held in 2022 in which the prize money of 16 million dollars was given to the winner England. The runner-up team of the T20 World Cup 2024 will receive a prize money of $1.28 million. While the two semi-final losing teams will receive $787,500. Teams that do not advance past the second round will each receive $382,500, and teams that finish between ninth and 12th place will each receive $247,500. Teams finishing 13th through 20th will each receive $225,000. Additionally, each team will receive an additional $31,154 for each match they win, excluding the semifinals and finals. ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardyce said the event was historic in many ways and the prize money allocated to the players reflected that. The Indian Squad for the T20 World Cup is announced. To win a World Cup, you need the perfect balance of experienced players with some youngsters. If you throw a few players who have a point to prove, you get a really interesting mix. To win a WC, we say, the experience sets up the win, but the youngsters have to push it over the line. Looking at this squad, my initial gut feeling: the balance is wrong. Maybe there was a lot of thought and weight given to the type of pitches in the USA (all newly laid) and WI. Given what we have seen and know about unpredictable conditions, I suspect that it will be the fast bowlers who have a better overall WC. If this pans out, Indian maybe thin on the bowling front.
