We know the last few weeks have been tough for flood affected communities. It’s why we’re teaming up with the Commonwealth to provide financial support to people from the communities and surrounding homelands of Kalkarindji, Daguragu, Pigeon Hole, Yarralin and Timber Creek. Immediate Hardship Payments include: 🔵 $300 for a children, 🔵 $593 for adults, and 🔵 $1,493 for families We’re also knocking 50% off freight costs for pastoralists and providing emergency grants for community organisations so that the whole community can get back on its feet as quickly as possible. Together we have raised $2.5 million in flood relief gifts and commitments for the VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund 2023 (thank you!!!) and distributed $330,600 in grants and aid statewide this week. Another round of grants will be made next week, bringing the expected total to over $500,000 distributed from the fund, with more to follow soon after. Lots of landowners are hearing that message, and want to donate land to Tribes, but how does that process work exactly? I welcome anyone with a partial or whole answer to this question, as it seems so very critical to know.
