The ramp allows a moving vehicle's kinetic energy to be dissipated gradually in a controlled and relatively harmless way, helping the operator to stop it safely without a violent crash.

Looks that Road belong in south in Brazil, this Road is called Regis Bitencout and link the south of Brazil to Sรฃo Paulo. This iniciative was to save lifes and avoid acidents in this road because is a large extense steep slope, around 60km in declive

Have a few of these in Colorado, now all we need is tourists to NOT park in the runaway shoulder because โneed to take pretty picturesโ. Canโt tell you how many folks from out of state I told to get the hell out of there. If only they knew how much danger they were in.
I see one big problem, looking at the truck crossing the safety exit while pulling out the truck....what if other track have one problem?. Reminds F1 fatal accident while taking a DNF car with a crane, other F1 car hit it....

What maintenance is being neglected that this is needed?? It seems like this would have little to no use if companies/owners kept their tractor trailers in good working condition.

11moI think they should use a retarder to avoid the failure of their normal brake system. It saves lives and reduces the wear on brakes and tires
