Redefining Success: Balancing Career and Personal Life in a Male-Dominated Society As a 25-year-old real estate developer and an active member of social circles, I find myself reflecting on the journey that led me here. I owe a great deal of gratitude to my father, whose unwavering support allowed me to pursue my passion for creating spaces and navigating the complexities of a male-dominated industry. Today, however, I want to delve into a different aspect of this journey, one that often remains unspoken yet deeply resonates with many women like me – the perpetual balancing act between career aspirations and personal life choices. In the realm of professional networking, we often discuss triumphs, failures, and the learning curves that shape our careers. However, amidst these discussions, there lies a crucial question that continues to linger – where do we draw the line between our career ambitions and the desire to settle down? For me, as a young Indian woman striving to establish myself while also contemplating the notion of settling down, this question sparks a myriad of emotions and challenges. The reality is that, even in today's modern society, women in positions of power are met with skepticism and doubt. The notion that a woman can excel in her career while prioritizing her family seems to be met with disbelief. It's as if we constantly have to prove our capability and commitment time and again. As someone who values both my professional aspirations and my familial responsibilities, this persistent scrutiny can be disheartening. Coming from a traditional Jain family, I deeply understand the values and responsibilities we carry. However, there is one question that weighs heavily on my heart – would I still be expected to handle my father's legacy after marriage? This question is particularly poignant in a society where the inheritance of ancestral wealth and businesses is often dictated by gender norms. The harsh reality is that, in many cases, legacies cannot be passed down to daughters, leaving them in a precarious position. Women should not have to choose between pursuing their careers and embracing their personal lives. Instead, we should strive for a society where both can coexist harmoniously. For me, success is about finding a balance that allows me to pursue my passions while also nurturing meaningful relationships and fulfilling my familial duties. And while the path ahead may be daunting, I am hopeful that by sharing our experiences and challenging the status quo, we can pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future. So, to all the young women out there grappling with similar dilemmas, know that you are not alone. Your aspirations are valid, and your worth extends far beyond societal constraints.

As a second-generation individual immersed in the realm of real estate, I recently had the privilege of attending the CREDAI YOUTHCON, an event that brought together luminaries and innovators from the industry. The event was not just a gathering; it was a powerhouse of insights, strategies, and solutions tailored for individuals like us, eager to carve our path in the ever-evolving landscape of real estate. Among the plethora of enlightening sessions, there were a few that particularly resonated with me, offering invaluable perspectives and strategies to navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities in this dynamic field. 1. Double Your Sales Velocity @ 9% or More Premium in Less than 30 Days by Ankur Hora: His approach to accelerating sales velocity while maintaining premium pricing challenged conventional wisdom. The insights shared were not just theoretical but actionable strategies backed by real-world success stories of Mr. Yashaswi Shroff. Implementing these techniques could potentially revolutionize the way we approach sales and marketing in real estate, driving faster growth and increased profitability. 2. Chanakya Neeti: Strategy for Success by Dr. Radhakrishna Pilal: Drawing from the timeless wisdom of Chanakya, Dr. Radhakrishna Pilal's session delved into building ones character for better strategic thinking and decision-making. He emphasised on 3 things which are team support, giving importance to experience of elders and discipline. 3. A Comedian’s Guide to Communication and Storytelling Strategy by Papa CJ Communication is the cornerstone of success in any field, and Mr. Papa CJ's session offered a unique perspective on harnessing the power of storytelling. In an industry often characterized by jargon and technicalities, the ability to communicate effectively can set us apart. Mr. Papa CJ's humorous yet insightful approach highlighted the importance of authenticity, relatability, and emotional resonance in our communication strategies. Reflecting on these sessions, I am reminded of the invaluable role that continuous learning plays in our personal and professional development. While traditional education provides a solid foundation, events like CREDAI YOUTHCON offer practical insights and real-world strategies that are often overlooked in academic settings. The knowledge gained from these sessions is not just theoretical; it is actionable wisdom that can directly impact our success in the real estate industry.

As yesterday was a significant day in acknowledging women as leader, house-maker, daughter, supporter, consultant and other roles we play being one. Today I share one such anecdote as being a working woman entrepreneur on site , and Navigating Frustrations while Managing Contractors, Labourers, and Staff" ! Every day is a balancing act between being goal-oriented, time-driven, and maintaining respect in all interactions, especially when faced with frustrations stemming from a misalignment between expectations and reality. I've often found myself in situations where the desired outcomes aren't met despite clear instructions and deadlines. It's easy to feel the weight of responsibility, especially when time is of the essence. However, what adds complexity to these situations is the need to communicate respectfully with the working class, acknowledging their efforts while addressing shortcomings. One of the most significant frustrations I encounter is the realization that not everyone shares the same level of urgency or attention to detail. While my focus is on achieving goals efficiently, I've learned that this may not always align with the pace or priorities of those I work with. This disconnect can lead to tension and challenges in maintaining productivity and quality standards. Despite these frustrations, I've come to appreciate the importance of maintaining a respectful and understanding approach in all interactions. Recognizing the hard work and dedication of the individuals I work with, even when faced with setbacks, is essential in fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Over time, I've developed strategies to navigate these challenges effectively. Clear communication, regular feedback, and setting realistic expectations are key components of managing contractors, laborers, and staff. Additionally, leading by example and demonstrating a commitment to the shared goals of the project or business can inspire motivation and accountability among team members. I'm continuously learning and evolving in my role as a leader. While frustrations may arise, they serve as opportunities for growth and refinement in how I manage and communicate with those around me. By embracing these challenges with resilience and empathy, I'm confident in my ability to overcome obstacles and achieve success in my entrepreneurial endeavors.

From Tableware Dreams to Real Estate Realities: My Journey as a Second-Generation Entrepreneur. Starting with my first personal anecdote of triumphs and setbacks, highlighting the invaluable lessons learned along the way and how I transitioned. As a fresh graduate from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), my heart was set on starting a tableware brand that reflected my passion for design and creativity. Armed with a degree in design, I was ready to conquer the world of aesthetics and innovation. However, reality had other plans for me. In 2019, I embarked on a journey that would reshape my career trajectory and challenge my preconceived notions of success. My attempt to launch a tableware brand ended in failure, leaving me at a crossroads with limited options. Little did I know, this setback would lead me to discover a new path within my family's unorganized real estate business. Joining the family business was a leap of faith, fueled by a mix of apprehension and enthusiasm. As a product designer, I felt confident in my ability to navigate the creative aspects of real estate development. From conceptualizing designs to liaising with contractors and laborers, I thrived in an environment where aesthetics met functionality. However, my journey took an unexpected turn as I grappled with unfamiliar territories: finance, management, and legalities. Suddenly, I found myself immersed in a world of balance sheets, bylaws, and legal agreements, far removed from the realm of design I was accustomed to. ( An agreement of 60 pages would look like an uphill task to me sometimes.) Coming from a design fashion college, where creativity reigned supreme, I realized I had neglected essential skills crucial for business success. The ability to absorb and analyze complex information, such as financial statements and legal documents, became paramount. Yet, I found myself struggling to adapt, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information and the unfamiliar language of finance. Despite the challenges, I embraced this new chapter with determination and resilience. I embarked on this journey of self-education, by first starting to learn aspects that were of interest and seemed easier to me like - Marketting, Sales, Liaising, Finance and then hoping last to Bylaws. Gradually gaining confidence with each milestone achieved. My transition from a design-oriented background to the world of real estate entrepreneurship has been a transformative experience, redefining my perception of success and resilience. While the journey has been fraught with obstacles and uncertainties, it has also been a journey of self-discovery and growth. Will continue to be the same.
