8 best #electronic circuit design practices to kick off the week! 1. Define specification and build block diagrams. Develop a detailed specification that covers all aspects of circuit design including input, and output signals. 2. Employ pull up, pull down, and zero resistors. This will avoid the odd effects of your circuits floating state. 0-ohm resistors can be used to modify the circuit even after its instruction. These resistors are used as a bridge to route tracks optimally on a board. 3. Utilize microcontrollers and mix signal circuits to increase performance efficiency. These devices can be programmed according to your requirements. They also reduce the number of discrete components. 4. Reduce power consumption using PWM signals. Use PWM signal with a 75-percent duty cycle to reduce the mean output power consumption. 5. Implement safety measures for ESD, reverse polarity, transients, and over voltages. Incorporate voltage limiters, power diodes, fly back diodes, class X and class Y capacitors to reduce the risk of electro static discharge, reverse polarity, transients, and over voltages. 6. Select the components based on life cycle, ensure that you use parts that won't become obsolete and remain available for the next five to seven years. 7. Effectively capture the schematic and verify using EDA tools. Choose an efficient layout design tool, like Allegro or KiCad, that provides adequate design support. 8. Carry out simulations and functional tests to verify your design's functionality using a simulator. You can make necessary changes in case the circuit doesn't function as per requirements. https://lnkd.in/dAbyfDSE #pcb #pcbdesign #electronics #manufacturing
