Since 2008, over 32,000 bikes have been ridden in over 105 cities across the country by more than 71 million riders through a bike share program. 🚴♀️ Which means there have been quite a lot of wheels hitting the pavement over the last 15+ years! 📈 And in California, probably unsurprisingly, some of the most popular months for pulling a bike from a dock are June, July, August and September, according to data from the Bureau of Transportation. Such an interesting way to look at the desired line. A common example of desired line is foot traffic where people will find shortcuts that best fit them and their needs. We can see the evidence of this as dirt paths that divert away from the sidewalk. When it’s snowing, we get the ability to see how vehicles really use the road. In behavioral economics this is called revealed preference, where people make decisions that maximize their utility or their time.
