Hey, brainiacs! I'm taking part in the push up challenge for Mental Health. Here are some funny reasons why you should donate to this awesome cause: 1) Because life is hard and people need help to cope 2) Brains are squishy and mushy, but science shows you can reshape them no matter how old you get. 3) Working out keeps me sane, so I won't freak out at you 4) It's the biggest fundraising event for mental health in Australia 5) Stick one to the man and get some money back for doing good! The Push for Better Foundation is a legit charity in Australia and you can claim your donation on your taxes. (ABN 49645093349) 6) I also put my money where my mouth is, so you know it's good stuff.

If people would only realise that mental health services and charities are the link to all the other charities and can support them all, and also increase the others successes… for example, many mental health sufferers struggle to maintain routine and clean their teeth… no amount of education will change that, mental health support however, can… The other charities you could vote for, when they occur and are bad, often the majority need mental health support for them and their families to cope… which also further increases the odds of successful treatments and surgeries… while also increasing the standard of mental aftercare! But mental health services also aid in people becoming healthier, more active and less likely to contract the issues other charities support… thus aiding in prevention and causing the other charities to have less strain on them and need less resources to have great success… The brain, is the most important aspect of the body… it doesn’t just retain information… it also promotes or demotes physical health, decision making and ability to cope with stress and daily life…
We're delighted to be one of four charities sharing a donation of £250,000 from Simplyhealth and Denplan, in their mission to support the nation's health this winter. 💚 Your votes will decide how much of the share we receive – so we’re counting on your support! With your help, this donation will enable us to continue our vital work towards good mental health for all. A minute of your time is all it takes to make a big difference and support our work. 💚 Vote by Sun 17 December!: https://bit.ly/3R5QLxY

As the inaugural executive director, I launched the Institute with our mayor in 2015. We've worked hard to make improvements in what can only be described as a very broken mental health system. Here’s a snapshot of some accomplishments in the past 9 years: Commercial health insurers are now required to pay for medically necessary treatment of any mental health and/or substance use disorder defined by the American Psychiatric Association, impacting millions of Californians who receive this care. Tens of thousands of Californians who live with a serious mental illness and are homeless, or at great risk of becoming homeless now have access to permanent housing with services attached, due to the Institute’s multi-year effort which, in the end, leveraged $2 billion and created the No Place Like Home Initiative. Californians who find themselves experiencing a mental health crisis can dial 9-8-8 and will receive a compassionate response from trained mental health professionals rather than a response from law enforcement. Your contribution will allow us to continue to do this important work, will help us maintain our non-profit status, and will go toward our efforts to improve people’s lives. It would be our honor to make progress with you as an ally.. We hope you will join in the movement by making a tax deductible donation. And, if you make a gift with a Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1 Credit Union) debit or credit card, your donation will be boosted by an additional match! https://lnkd.in/gzzjP3ZR #BDOG2024

🚴♂️ 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐔𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 500𝐤𝐦 𝐂𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞🚴♂️ This May, I am proud to be participating in the 2024 Magic Ride, a 500km cycling challenge through the Hunter Valley, to support Feel the Magic, a charity dedicated to providing grief education to children who have experienced profound loss. As a team sponsor (Jay Anderson Property), our goal is to raise $15,000 – that's $30 for every kilometre of the ride. How You Can Help: 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Help us reach our fundraising goal. Donate: https://lnkd.in/ghHCKHPb 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝: Share this initiative within your networks to increase our impact. 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞: There are a few spots available for those who wish to participate in this meaningful event. Imagine the pain of losing someone dear to you at a young age. Sadly, this is the reality for 1 in every 20 children aged 7-17, and over 300,000 children in Australia will experience the loss of a parent before they turn 18. The impact of losing a parent at a young age leaves a lasting imprint on a child's life, leaving behind scars that may never fully heal. Research reveals the devastating toll it takes, showing how it disrupts not only their present but also their future. From strained relationships to academic struggles and occupational challenges, the repercussions are far-reaching. Tragically, this pain often leads to harmful coping mechanisms, mental health issues, substance abuse, and an increased risk of suicide. The ripple effects are profound, shaping their journey long after the initial loss. This is where Feel the Magic steps in to provide these children and their families with the support they need to find solace, strength, and the opportunity to embark on a path toward healing. Feel the Magic’s work is crucial, and the need is great. By supporting this cause, we can together help shape a better future for these children. #MagicRide2024 #FeelTheMagic
