Compassion United is hosting our free quarterly workshop, if you’re helping people whether its your kids and family or its your job to help people this workshop is for you! “People Helping People” **Free Workshop** Helping people by empowering, not enabling. Do you want to help people without enabling them? If so, we would love for you to join us at the People Helping People Workshop, where we will learn how to become even better "people-helpers!" Most people are generally eager to help others, but sometimes we misunderstand what “help” actually looks like. In this workshop, we will focus on learning to have healthy responses to people in need. A healthy response means you can set boundaries, require others around you to be powerful, only give feedback when the person is ready to hear it, and empower them to take ownership of their own problems. A powerful person is someone who takes responsibility for their life and their choices. Here is some of what we will cover... Tools to help you empower others to solve their own problems How to set boundaries to protect your time, energy, and resources Step by step processes for problem solving with others Checkpoints to know if your help is empowering or enabling Knowing how to direct someone to the source of comfort, the Father How to help others live and act from their core beliefs The effects of Complex Trauma and neurodivergence and how we can navigate them whem helping people. These tools can be applied to ALL relationships with ALL people in ALL situations. Who wouldn’t want to improve in these areas? We would love for you to attend this workshop!!! 🧠 🌟 Rethinking Year-End Reflections: Shifting Focus to Community Impact 🌍 As we approach the end of another remarkable year, I've been reflecting on the meaningful strides we've made at Rehab on the Road. Instead of the traditional route of showcasing our consultations and client acquisitions throughout 2023, I want to highlight something that truly resonates with our values - our community service initiatives. At Rehab on the Road, we believe in not just being a business in the community but an integral part of it. This year, our team (and there are only two of us I might add) dedicated time and resources to meaningful community service projects. Here are some highlights of our community service endeavours for 2023 👩🏽🎓 We held free lectures all year around and educated over 1,245 Northern Beaches residents on topics such as, Dementia, hypertension, OA, OP, Parkinson’s disease and most importantly what is an AEP and how we differ from physiotherapy. 👩🏽⚕️ We delivered 89 free health checks. These health checks resulted in us flagging conditions such as hypertension and irregular heart rates to be followed up with a GP. 🏃🏽♂️ We delivered 23 free balance and falls prevention screens 🌍 And for every initial consultation we donated $10 to the following charities. ·     Dementia Australia ·     The Smith Family ·     The Red Cross to support the Syrian earthquake appeal   These initiatives not only reflect our commitment to corporate social responsibility but also highlight the power businesses have to be forces for positive change. As we celebrate the successes of the year, let's remember the importance of giving back and being socially responsible. I encourage my fellow professionals to consider incorporating a similar approach in their year-end reflections. By shifting the narrative from mere business metrics to community impact, we not only inspire our teams but also contribute to a more compassionate and connected community. Let's make 2024 a year where our collective efforts leave a lasting legacy beyond our balance sheets. 🚀

Update on the Mind Fundraiser: We made it! After 5 intense days we arrived in Nantes - and we raised a massive 109% of our target, a full £547 ! Thank you to all who donated, both to the fundraiser, or directly by hosting us on our journey. The key lessons of this project, for me, were about resilience, on both personal and strategic levels. > Your success is not only a product of your planning and action, but also the quality and dedication of your support network. In our case, without them, we could not have completed our journey. > One of the most valuable things you can do when planning any project is make space for emergencies. As projects with many moving parts can be unpredictable, allowing yourself margin for error is a good investment to keep stress low. > Following on from this, agility can make the difference between a difficult day and a good day. With higher flexibility of time, resources and strategy, you can better account for issues and adapt to changing circumstances in the long run. Be willing to change plans if the need arises. I am very proud to have been able to make a difference, and I will continue to advocate and act for better mental health in the workplace and society as a whole.

Howdy LinkedIn Fam - I need your help: I’m in the process of raising $3,000 for an organization that’s doing important work to break the cycle of homelessness in Austin, TX. They’re called A New Entry - an Austin-based resource center for people experiencing homelessness. There are over 9,000 people in Austin experiencing homelessness and over 60% of them are not eligible or supported by any of the existing resource centers. Two of the biggest factors that make it hard for people to break the cycle of homelessness are substance addiction and being formerly incarcerated. That’s where A New Entry comes in. Their doors are open to all, and they’re a *Critical Access Point* for addiction resources, housing, and more for those who may otherwise fall through the cracks without support. Sooo - I’m a man on a mission!! Over the next 10 days, I'm leading a fundraising BLITZ for A New Entry before the cheque-ceremony event in Austin next Thursday!
