Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB)’s Post

Singapore’s MedTech ecosystem is harnessing the power of AI to drive the future of #healthcare! ResMed, a company with a presence in Singapore for close to three decades, recently organised a forum to discuss how #AI can enable early detection and prevention of diseases, improve treatment outcomes and enable better and more cost-efficient care management. The company specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of sleep-disordered breathing and Naji Chalhoub, ResMed’s VP of Manufacturing in Asia, said the company remains committed to developing innovative solutions to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. Beyond sleep management, AI can be used for faster drug development, easier monitoring of patients and promoting personal well-being. For instance, there’s APOLLO, an AI-enabled national platform for medical imaging developed by A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research, National Heart Centre Singapore, National University Health System and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, which produces results from a scan in just 10 minutes! To enable further AI developments in healthcare, Singapore has established AI in Healthcare Guidelines and a national health data exchange platform, Trusted Research and Real-World Data Utilisation and Sharing Tech (TRUST), for safe and secure academia-industry collaborations. We are also committing S$1.5b to growing AI capabilities, infrastructure, and fostering partnerships, with a focus on upskilling healthcare professionals to use AI. ResMed is part of Singapore’s growing #MedTech ecosystem of more than 400 global and local enterprises. They are investing in new technologies to deliver greater healthcare impact across the care continuum – learn more about why these globally-leading players are choosing to do so from Singapore: https://lnkd.in/ggAygwfs
