skill gap in the current market of Cambodia and the role of training 📚 this is a big topic in Cambodia right now as this is one of the priorities that the government has on its agenda. being based in Cambodia since July 22 , this has been for me a new experience as learning to work in a developing economy and developing a company whose main activity is training. ▶️A lot of companies I have been talking to have been challenged due to the chaotic past few years we just went through and unfortunately, one of the first budget which was cut was training. ▶️There are a lot of expectations and needs when you talk with CEO and General managers.. one of the main challenges is often about finding the right talent or the lack of talent for a lot of industries as there are not enough infrastructure in place for professional education. Cambodia’s economy has ambitious goals and this training topic is part of it. The good news is there is a growing momentum on this subject and I am convinced there will be exciting outcomes 😊😊 many thanks to EuroCham Cambodia for organising this event and inviting me to be on the speaker panelist !

Tip-off on the ILO's Eight Core Labor Standards I just wanted to share with you an important issue that concerns all HR professionals and employers. It's my today's reading about HR. Complying with the ILO Core Labor Standards is crucial for ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and with respect. Let's do our part to create a workplace that values and upholds these standards. Ethiopia joined the ILO in 1923 and has ratified 23 Conventions including the 8 Fundamental Conventions. Out of the 23 Conventions ratified by Ethiopia, 22 are in force and 1 Convention has been denounced. #ILO #LaborStandards #FairWorkplace #humanresourcemanagement #HRProfesional

🚀 Exciting Update! The new Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests (TG-FWAR) will take effect on 1 December 2024. These guidelines, featuring 10 key recommendations, are set to reshape the norms and expectations around FWAs. Employers will be required to consider and respond to formal FWA requests appropriately, while employees are reminded to request and use FWAs responsibly. Yu-Jin Lau recently had the privilege of attending an insightful dialogue session with Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Finance and Second Minister for National Development Indranee Rajah, Senior Minister of State for Manpower Poh-Koon Koh (Dr), Singapore National Employers Federation Vice President John Ng, and NTUC Assistant Secretary-General Wan Ling Yeo This event provided business leaders and HR professionals with an invaluable opportunity to learn industry best practices and engage in meaningful conversations about the new guidelines. 🌟 Key takeaways: 🔹 Comprehensive understanding of the 10 TG-FWAR recommendations 🔹 Best practices for employers in managing FWA requests 🔹 Guidance for employees on responsibly requesting and utilising FWAs We are enthusiastic about the positive impact these guidelines will have on enhancing workplace flexibility and productivity in Singapore.
