As we enter Sexual Assault Awareness Month, it's imperative to recognize the critical role parents, especially mothers, play in fostering a safe environment for their daughters to discuss sensitive topics like sexual assault. Our daughters need to feel empowered to come to us with their concerns, knowing they will be met with understanding, support, and most importantly, belief. By creating an open dialogue about consent, boundaries, and respect from an early age, we equip them with the tools to navigate challenging situations with confidence. Let's pledge to cultivate a safe space where our daughters feel heard and valued, free from judgment or shame. By breaking the silence surrounding sexual assault and advocating for prevention and support services, we can work towards a future where all individuals, regardless of gender, feel safe, respected, and empowered to speak up against any form of abuse. Together, let's stand in solidarity with survivors, educate our communities, and take meaningful action to end the prevalence of sexual violence. 🔵 #MotherDaughterStrong #SAAM #MotherDaughterTalks #BuildingBonds #MotherDaughterConversations #Trust #MotherDaughterCommunication #Connections #SafeSpace #BelieveSurvivors

#FinancialLiteracyforWomen #FinancialAbuse #EndGBV “Financial abuse is often neglected in the assessment of domestic violence. But it is a really huge issue.” - Sherry Hamby, Ph.D., author of 'Battered Women’s Protective Strategies: Stronger Than You Know.' _______________ "When people think of abuse and gender based violence, what comes to mind is usually physical abuse, followed by sexual, emotional or psychological abuse. Financial, or economic, abuse is another way batterers control their partners to keep them in a relationship. It’s a very powerful form of abuse that, like other types of abuse, often begins subtly and progressives over time. Child brides are especially vulnerable to financial and other types of abuse."
