Concentrating on ocean plastic waste is crucial because of its immediate and tangible impact on marine life, ecosystems, and human health. Plastic pollution in the oceans poses a direct threat to marine animals through ingestion and entanglement, leading to injury and death. Furthermore, plastics break down into microplastics, which can enter the food chain and potentially harm human health. Addressing ocean plastic waste provides more immediate benefits in terms of protecting biodiversity, preserving ecosystems, and safeguarding human health. By focusing on reducing and cleaning up ocean plastic waste, we can make a noticeable difference in the health of our oceans and the well-being of all life that depends on them. oceanintegrity.org

We can realize that the percentage of plastic usage continues to increase every year, while public awareness regarding plastic waste processing has not shown a corresponding increase. In fact, plastic waste has a significant negative impact on our environment, such as soil and water pollution, air pollution, flooding, and posing threats to the survival of various species. In response to these challenges, Badjatex, in collaboration with the local community, has initiated the Garbage Bank program. This program aims to transform conventional waste processing systems into economically valuable practices, thus fostering a healthier environment for future generations. Through these efforts, we come to realize that small steps taken today can lead to significant impacts in the future. Join us in making a positive environmental impact—take part in your green action! #Badjatex #BraveGeneration #SustainableDenim

Today, the 28th of July, marks the Plastic Overshoot Day, when the amount of plastic waste surpasses the capability of waste management systems to effectively manage it. A report by EA - Earth Action outlines how each country contributes to the global problem and how there is a clear imbalance between those countries. Rather than pointing fingers, this day should allow us to reflect on the extent of the problem and work towards sustainable solutions. Such as improving our waste management systems, reducing our plastic consumption and advocating for policy changes.
