Navigating an interview in the film industry can be as challenging as an audition for a lead role. When you're asked about your long-term career goals, how do you respond? It's about more than just stating your dream job; it's about painting a picture of your professional future that's both ambitious and grounded in reality. Remember, it's not just about where you want to go, but also how you plan to get there. How do you ensure your career goals resonate with potential employers while staying true to your vision? What's your strategy for making your aspirations clear and compelling?

‼️ QUICK CAREER TIP: a little vulnerability goes a long way! How would you answer the interview question: "What are your weaknesses?" You could: 🚫 Over-share and reveal all your shortcomings 🚫 Deny, and say you have none 🚫 Flip it and brag on how you work too hard, care too much, etc. ✅️ Here's a better way! What the interviewer may ACTUALLY be asking is whether you are self-aware. So, you can use the "weaknesses" question as an opportunity to demonstrate that you are; and to exhibit characteristics all employers desire, like determination, resilience, and humility. HERE'S HOW: - Admit a mistake or shortcoming. Briefly describe the situation and how it happened. - Convey how you realized you were on the wrong path, and what you did to get back on track. - Express what you learned from the experience and how you/the org/the matter is better as a result. Put this tip into practice, and you'll start to see results. Let's get growing! 🌺

Career Exploration Advisor | Helping college students & recent grads explore possibilities and land opportunities
I had a student receive an offer this week for a full-time role, and we both agreed that she may not have been the most qualified candidate. One key mindset we talked about going into the interview was to remember that: this is a PERSON who’s about to interview you — not an automated bot evaluating your credentials — a person you might very soon be working with, go to lunch/coffee with, travel with, etc. And so part of your goal — in addition to clearly communicating your fit for this role and learning more about the company — is to CONNECT with this person on a personal level and learn more about THEM. **BEFORE THE INTERVIEW: - Visit their LinkedIn profile - look through all of their experiences from school to today - Ask 3-4 questions about pieces of their career journey that you are genuinely curious to know more about — How did they decide to get into this space after studying [major]? What prompted their transition from [last company] to [current company]? How are they liking Atlanta? Etc. ^^Don't fake these. Find pieces of their story you are genuinely curious to hear more about. - Then go into the interview with an open and curious mindset believing that — this might really be your soon-to-be work bestie. Culture matters, and people want to work with people who they can imagine connecting with. Final round interviews are about starting that connection, and you would be surprised how far it can go in the objective evaluation process. #interviews #jobsearch #collegestudents #careeradvising

Director at Chandler Harris Recruitment Ltd, specialist recruiter for the sales and white collar construction industry.
🤔 Ever walked out of an interview wishing you'd asked better questions? Here's a game-changer: asking the RIGHT questions can set you apart as a candidate. 🚀 👉 First off, why does this matter? Interviews are a two-way street. While the company evaluates if you're a fit, you're also assessing if they're right for YOU. Plus, insightful questions demonstrate your interest, preparation, and strategic thinking. 💡 So, what should you ask? Here are my top picks: 1️⃣ "What does success look like for this role in the first 6 months?" This shows you're results-oriented and eager to contribute from the get-go. 2️⃣ "How does the company support professional development?" It's not just about the job; it's about your growth trajectory. 🌱 3️⃣ "Can you tell me more about the team I'll be working with?" Understanding team dynamics is crucial for your day-to-day happiness and productivity. Remember, an interview is your chance to shine and learn. Don't shy away from asking what truly matters to you. 🌟 And if you're on the hunt for a role that taps into your potential, look no further. At Chandler Harris Recruitment, we're all about connecting talent with opportunity. 🤝 📞 Keen to make that career leap? Give us a ring at 01737 452030. Let's make success your reality, not just an interview question. 💼 #CareerGrowth #InterviewTips #JobSearchSuccess
