Great episode produced by the Harvard Business Review on Strategy podcast with Helen Lee Bouygues! 🎙️👂 💡Key takeaways: 1. Critical thinking still requires consistent practice over time, i.e. Just because you learned it once, doesn't mean you should stop exercising that skill. 2. Intentionally seeking out friends with potentially opposing thoughts helps you to access diverse perspectives and ideas, therefore enriching your own thought process and contextual information about a situation/place/thing/choice. 3. Learn to ask critical questions to aid reasoning with logic, i.e. Prevents being blinded by subjective hypotheses or WTF (wishful thinking forever 😉 ), especially when it comes to decision-making. Helping workplaces work better and transform with great communication | Business communication consultant | Internal communication | Culture | Change | Engagement | Employees & Leadership | Listening
I love a good podcast and I'm currently listening to this which is brilliant. It talks about friction in work places and how managers can be the fixers. Striking the right balance between a bit of structure and bureaucracy to make work work. The phrase 'be more elephant and not a hippopotamus' made me chuckle. Big on ears, smaller in the mouth. In other words, ask questions and listen more than you talk 🙏 https://lnkd.in/eGRBt-Yp

New Post: 3 podcast episodes that will help boost your productivity - https://lnkd.in/dhu3VE9n Getting more done in less time is a skill from which anyone would benefit. Looking online for productivity hacks, though, you'll find lots of advice on screen blockers and apps that help you multi-task or focus. While those could be useful, there are lots of technology-free ways to boost your productivity, too. Here are three podcast episodes that detail expert-recommended systems you can implement today that will help you get more done.1. 'How to Better Manage Your Time' on Life KitListen here.In this episode NPR reporter and producer Andee Tagle interviews Oliver Burkeman, the author of "Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals" about how changing your relationship with time might be all you need to manage it.Burkeman makes the argument that you don't need to be more efficient at completing tasks, you just need to accept that some tasks will not get done. There are only so many hours a day you can be productive, and instead of being unrealistic with your to-do list, shorten it to things you know you can complete and prepare yourself for the fact that you won't be able to do everything you think you can.2. 'The Essential Tools' on Deep Questions with Cal NewportListen here.Cal Newport is an author and associate professor of computer science at Georgetown University. He suggests four interdependent tools that will help you be more productive:Have a calendar you update diligently. While this might seem obvious, many people are inconsistent with how often they check and manage their calendar.Make a obligation and status list. Unlike a to-do list, this is a record of things you already committed to doing along with a notation that indicates how complete or important they are. Perhaps you are waiting for notes back on a project you know is due in a week. You can write something like "Project due in one week, notes are on their way."Multiscale plan. Make a quarterly plan, weekly plan, and day plan. Newport suggests making the day plan analog in case your tasks don't involve screens.Create a core systems document. Write down that you are using the first three tools. The act of putting on paper that you have these systems in place makes them feel less "fluid" he says.In the episode, Newport expands on how best to utilize these tools and why, together, they can improve your productivity.3. '1-3-5 Rule That'll Increase Your Productivity by 90%' on Bright SideListen here. Some tasks are heavier lifts than others. And oftentimes when we feel like we aren't productive, it's because we are trying to accomplish too many time-consuming or brain-consuming to-do's in one day.Using the 1-3-5 rule helps you take on a realistic amount of work. The idea is that in one day you can accomplish one big, important task, three less cruci

This is what a good podcast audio file looks like. Compression is good for small file size and faster downloads, the audio peaks are solid with constant & consistent audio. The peak is about -6dB which is best. It's a beautiful audio file. Consistent audio throughout which leads to a pleasant listening experience. The audio is from an SM57 mic that has been perfectly tuned to the voice of the podcaster using post-processing and denoising while maintaining the original character and just pulling out the best notes from his voice. Yes, we do podcasts for clients; this is one example of our exquisite craftsmanship. Check out this episode about Why "Trusting the Process" is so hard. https://bit.ly/3spIFIf
