Imagining the Perfect World for Thoughtful Project Management I am working to build a cutting edge robotics product and the initial plan was to come up with a blueprint of how the product should work. I started wondering how our projects would look in a perfect world? This led to many creative and new thoughts which helped me create a better blueprint than it’s previous versions. So i want to share this technique with my network. Sometimes, the key to unlocking creativity and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible is to first envision the ideal outcome. By starting with the question, "What would our project look like in a perfect world?", we can: 1️⃣ Tap into a realm of unlimited potential and innovative ideas. 2️⃣ Challenge conventional boundaries and rethink our strategies. Once we've sketched this "perfect world" blueprint, it’s time to return to reality with a fresh perspective. We can then: 1️⃣ Identify the skills and resources needed to make this vision come alive. 2️⃣ Prioritize tasks and align our team with a shared vision. Notes. I live by and capture my life by writing in my own hand, notes. I have years of notes in hand written pages of books sitting in boxes. When I look at the notes from over the years, I see work accomplished and work wasted. I see a lifetime of thought and preparation. I see the foundations for who I have become. I see plans started, restarted, stopped and completed. I see dreams and failures. Most of all I see a life with people. In the end, my notes are really all about my interactions with people. People are what make these notes, and I see friends, family and relationships. I can remember the day, the moment, I wrote a note and vividly remember the person or persons around that note. A University professor’s class on robotics. A product development session with an oversized meeting. Project planning, deliverables and goals for new productions. BAU, KTLO and greenfield or blue sky workloads that all have one common thing. People I have traveled physically and virtually to meet with people and write notes. So, my notes all are bound to people and relationships. Scores and scraps of paper that may seem meaningless were it not for memories of my life and the people whom I shared, my notes.
