Introducing Sling’s first Web Engineer Eli Schutze Ramirez for this week’s #TalentTuesday! Eli’s background is primarily in consumer tech - she loves working on products that solve for your everyday. From Trainline and Monzo to Twitter to Sling, her work helps simplify customers’ relationship to the world, to other people or to money. In her words, she joined Sling to “somewhat selfishly, solve my own personal money transfer problems. Sometimes I simply want to split brunch with my friends in New York or get reimbursed for some Christmas shopping by my Spanish family members without all of the complications and obscure fees of international transfers.” 1. What's the best piece of career advice you've ever received? People won't remember how many tickets you closed but they will remember how you made them feel. 🎟️ 2. What's the best piece of advice you could give to someone just starting in your industry? Be curious, make friends, practice. 🫂 3. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? Like most people, teleportation would be incredible. I'd also settle for simply being able to sleep on airplanes. ✈️ 😴 4. What's your favorite team tradition or inside joke at the office? I love Sling Week, our quarterly IRL get-togethers with the whole team from around the world. 🌎 5. What's the most rewarding part of your job? Getting to hang out and build cool stuff with the kindest, smartest people I know. 🧡 Thank you Eli for being a driving force for our Sling Links and bringing so much laughter to the team 🎉
