“For every like, I’ll donate a pound for good …” This is on behalf of the young people that I am truly inspired by. They say that you have power in your network and that every small action makes a difference... well, here it goes… This year, 50 young people from Sunnah Trust, are on a journey of leadership and personal development: - developing their key skills such as communication and public speaking - understanding the importance of taking responsibility and serving others - ensuring they have good etiquette and manners in everything they do (arabic: adab) - understanding the importance of building trust (arabic: amanah) - and always acting with pure and good intentions (arabic: niyaah) 💙 The young people are on a mission to utilise their skills and fundraise in memory of a 15 year old student, Umarah, who passed away two years ago. 👏 Their dedication is incredible and in just two weeks, they've raised an astonishing £10,000! They have organised everything from street bake sales to community car washes. They will continue their efforts at a Charity Fun Day at East London Mosque on Sunday 25 February. For every like this post receives in the next week, I'll donate a pound, demonstrating the positive impact social media platforms can have on society. Campaign link: https://lnkd.in/ejDThMkA So, I kindly ask you to: 1) take a moment to read about Umarah’s story ^ 2) show your support with a like 👍 3) tag at least one person who will also 'like' the campaign Let's empower the next generation of change-makers together! #socialgood #socialimpact #youthleadership #communityengagement #linkedinforgood #techforgood #charity #fundraising #community #youngpeople #youngleaders #leadership

At One Impossible Thing we want to break down barriers that impede people from participating in sport. Redistributing preloved sports shoes to those who struggle to afford them, is our main way of doing this. But we also know that sometimes motivation is a barrier from getting out there and being active. Which is why we're involved in organising the Boxmoor Virtual Marathon! The idea is to run, bike, scoot, walk, swim or wheel your way through the 26 miles/42kms, over a ten week period. In this Olympic year, the virtual marathon starts when the Olympic Flame arrives in France on 8th May. You have until mid July to complete your marathon, so you can have your finishers medal in time for the Olympic Opening Ceremony! It’s a great challenge for families, who can get out together on their bikes or on a walk together. If you do 5kms each week, you’ll have completed your marathon by July, with time to spare! All money raised through sponsorship will ensure we can carry on with all the work we do with schools, homeless charities, refugees groups and school holiday activity camps. Once registered, you can ask families and friends to sponsor you. If you ask 10 people for £10, that’s £100 you’ve raised! 🌉 Get ready to #BridgeTheGap this week! ⛳️ Annual Charity Golf Tournament details below.🏌️♂️ 🗣️ Michelangelo's quote, along with John Wooden's advice, "Don’t mistake activity for achievement," emphasize the importance of using time wisely and focusing on meaningful actions. Wasting time means missing opportunities for progress and growth. If you just stay busy without purpose, you end up with superficial outcomes. 🎬 It's crucial to prioritize activities that contribute to our goals and bring real results, rather than just keeping ourselves occupied. By being mindful of how we use our time and focusing on what truly matters, we can maximize our effectiveness and achieve meaningful success. 💪🏻 Help us build and execute our MISSION! Head Of Marketing at Durham University; building global reputation and recruiting the best students, researchers and academics from around the world
Changing marketing tactics and shaking things up at The Great Run Company. This is the first time I have seen a major race open their ballot before the current year's event has ran. It's a bold move - and I like it. Here's why: 😎 Innovation is key: it's good to try new things - it gives the opportunity to test, learn and improve. 😍 Emotional investment: opening the ballot BEFORE this year's race allows people to invest even more emotionally, imagining themselves - quite literally - in the shoes of those braving 13.1 miles, as the 2024 event unfolds. 🏃♂️Closing the gap: no more waiting to sign up. Excitement is captured at its peak, closing the gap between desire and action. 📣 Hype hype and more hype. Does the GNR need more people entering? Maybe not. Does it need to continue to raise it's brand profile, attract top-tier sponsorship and drive increased philanthropic giving for the causes it supports? Absolutely. 📏 Data-driven decisions. The effects of other initiatives and attribution aside, this change can be measured, analysed and impact demonstrated. 😁 It makes people happy! Give the people what they want! Customer-centricity at its best. I for one am here for the change, and yes - although I've yet to run this year's distance, I have already signed up for my chance to be there again in 2025. Hope to see you there! 🥇
The September Ballot is now OPEN!🎉 This is your chance to secure your place on the AJ Bell #GreatNorthRun start line on Sunday 7th September 2025. 🏃 All the info you need 👇 📅 September Ballot closes on Friday 13th September 2024 at 12pm. 📧 You’ll receive your results by 18th September. If you’re successful, you’ll be all set for the 2025 event. Don't make it through the September Ballot? Don't worry—you’ll have another chance in the January ballot or by securing a charity spot. 🙌 Enter the ballot now and good luck! 👇 https://lnkd.in/efwZ2fm7 #HalfMarathon #Running #Events #Ballot #MassParticipation #InspiredByGreatness
