LOR - Loss of Reserve - is a (horrible outdated) supply-side only energy system construct! The issue is NOT “reserve” but risk of imbalance of Supply AND Demand!! The challenge can just as “easily” be met by DSM and managed reduction in demand (that explicitly means the “reserve” is NOT required. The system is TRANSFORMING not transitioning! The “problem” is that all energy system incumbents are dependent on “supply-side” only thinking for their business models! The fact that DSM delivers significant cost savings and benefits to consumers… seems to be lost on Energy Ministers, Regulators… and even consumers themselves!!
Power systems around the world are operated with a certain level of reserve energy to assist with maintaining power system reliability for consumers during challenging conditions, often extreme high demand periods during summer. When this happens, AEMO will notify the market of ‘lack of reserve’ (LOR) conditions to encourage more capacity to assist in meeting electricity demand. Read more here 👇

According to Manousakis, #Europe needs at least five new electricity transmission corridors for a core integrated EU system and European operators should plan horizontal and vertical electricity transmission corridors at a pan-European level. 8moI would like to Know if 8 months is an acceptable amount of time to have been waiting for a smart meter to be fitted by my service provider in order for me to claim payments for the solar power that i put into the Grid. I would also like to know if my service provider can use the same method that was used for logging my grid supply until such time as they have fitted my smart meter
