The custodial parent is typically required to use the child support funds for the benefit of the child, rather than for their own personal expenses. Got questions on child support? Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Councils bring together leaders in our community to act as a voice for families and children to make sure their needs are met. By involving leaders from social work, education, government agencies, health care, community resources such as food pantries, business and nonprofits, PCA Councils are able to hear from every viewpoint in a community to better protect children and set communities up for success. Whether it is making connections between resources, working together to develop solutions or creating events that highlight the work the community is doing to prevent child abuse, PCA Council members are helping to create a safer and brighter future for families. You can learn more about PCA Councils and find a council in your area by going to scanfw.org/pca-councils

Did you know that nationwide, grandparents, other relatives, and close family friends are raising over 2.4 million children whose parents are unable to care for them? For almost 25 years, grandparents and other relatives have been included in the National Family Caregiver Support Program and the Native American Caregiver Support Program. These successful programs, which are overseen by the Administration for Community Living, provide for five categories of supportive services to grandparent and other relative caregivers aged 55+ raising children. States and Area Agencies On Aging can include these important caregivers in their aging plans, and we're providing them the tools to do just that! In this guide from Network managing partner USAging, agencies can find sample language to help develop language for their state and community.
