On Today's Edition of Crazy Corporate Layoffs Our Guest Today is Intuit Intuit really just said that 1050 of the 1800 were low performers..?? Ya'll straight up SLANDERED a bunch of people publicly WTF? Has anyone seen that episode of the Good Doctor where Salen tries to force the Pharmacist to take the fall for her having expired prescriptions in the hospital and killing a patient This is exactly what Intuit is doing Poor leadership can't disguise itself as layoffs and then proceed to say 'we don't do layoffs to save money' ya ok guy 🙄 FIRE EXECUTIVES it's yall who make these poor decisions and then hope someone of lesser value will take the hit for you... Yall orgs bemoan the lack of talent....its not the job seekers that are the problem when yall do stuff like this. Which politician is Intuit fondling pretty sure there's incentives for both parties with this 'non-monetary' induced layoff... #intuit #layoffs #linkedin #sfbayarea
If Intuit has that many underperformers relative to their company size, they have been doing something really, really wrong with their hiring and performance management, which would be damning to themselves far more than those laid off. Personally I don't believe they are all underperformers.
I did a post kind of about that too, it's so messed up.
Wow...they used to be a great company. What happened? Unbelievable.
If all those people turned out to be poor performers, maybe the people who hired them should get fired too?
If I see poor performers, my finger is pointing at the people who hired them and their managers. As leaders and mentors, it is part of a managers job to address poor performance with an intention to guide and support that employee. To me, this is where you see a major lack in leadership. So, were these people failing and they were left to fail OR is this just an excuse to lay off people? Either way, all bad.
Thanks, Smita. Why should this type of corporate misbehavior and disinformation surprise anyone? We should EXPECT it, and celebrate the few times when companies actually put their people ahead of analysts' recommendations. Oh Intuit discriminates hard core and pivots for the shareholders. Never believe their marketing. I worked there total close to four years. They wrongfully terminatede months ago so I got a lawyer and now we're in pre litigation
Smita, I noticed that when I read the article this morning! I thought, wow, now everyone asking for help on LI with be side-eyed. That was ugly. I'm glad you called them on this.
If it was truly a performance issue, we'd assume they would be replacing those "under performers" with new hires.

3wWow… I don’t even have words for this. I have experienced it myself though. Top performed for 6 years. Nothing changes other than a new manager who fires my supervisor and all of a sudden I’m below expectations… whut? Who just suddenly forgets how to do their job after 6 years. Thankfully my new department recognized it was nonsense but it just shouldn’t happen
