https://lnkd.in/ebmbHg3H I'm happy to announce the release of my game FIRST ORBIT! This is a spaceflight sim made to help teach astrodynamics in an interactive and visual way. It features full n-body mechanics, allowing for Lagrange points, low energy transfers, distant retrograde orbits, and more. When it comes to education, I believe knowing the equations and having a practical knowledge of them are two halves of a whole understanding. In the same way that just reading a car manual does not teach one to drive, learning trajectory equations alone does not mean one understands how they work in practice. Being able to visually see trajectories, interact with them, and really "get behind the wheel" has an amazing learning value. My friends who played FIRST ORBIT! say it really helped them understand the subjects taught in our aerospace classes. I hope FIRST ORBIT! can be of use to students, professors, and anyone interested in learning astrodynamics.
