I filed for my 24th week of unemployment today and I’m only allowed 26 weeks In two short, quick, grueling weeks my unemployment comes to an end It doesn’t matter that I have applied for 486 opportunities It doesn’t matter that I have had 58 interviews It doesn’t matter that I was the “second runner up” 4 times It doesn’t matter that I have spent 40+ hours a week networking, researching, applying, editing, revamping, practicing, or prepping for the next big opportunity It doesn’t matter that I have worked since 13 years old paying into unemployment for them to provide me a cap for benefits and cut me off at the knee caps There aren’t any extensions!
