Breaking News :Green Power Rectifiers Power The World’s Largest Green Hydrogen-Ammonia Project The first phase of the initial 300,000 tons of green hydrogen-ammonia project, with a total capacity of 1.5 million tons, has successfully commenced operations. According to available information, this project is located in China and constructs an integrated demonstration project for green hydrogen and green ammonia production from wind and solar energy. The total investment is approximately 40 billion yuan, with an expected completion and commencement of production before 2028. The project leverages technological breakthroughs in new power systems to achieve an efficient coupling of wind, solar, storage, and hydrogen-ammonia alcohol production, solving significant cost challenges to the development of zero-carbon hydrogen. The first tank of liquid ammonia produced recently used 100% green electricity, marking an important milestone in the global development of green hydrogen and allowing the ‘new oil’ to achieve large-scale industrialization. Among the project’s features, it plans to produce 1.52 million tons of zero-carbon industrial gas products annually. The first phase of the project is scheduled to start production within two years, making it the world’s first zero-carbon hydrogen-ammonia project. Additionally, the rectifiers used in this project feature a single system with a power of 9MW, offering high reliability, efficiency, power factor, low harmonics, compact size, and good adaptability to large electrolyzers, providing perfect guarantees for the project to run at full capacity and produce stable green hydrogen. #rectifier #hydrogen-#ammonia

The Regulation for the “Promotion of Renewable Hydrogen and Other Renewable Gases” company incentive system has been approved. Main aspects to consider: ⚫ The total amount allocated for this incentive system is €70 million. ⚫ The maximum financing per beneficiary and per operation is €15 million. ⚫ Entities intending to carry out projects for the production of renewable hydrogen and other renewable gases can benefit from this incentive system. ⚫ Details regarding each financing project will soon be published in each call for tenders.

FRV to invest some $5 billion in 2 GW of green hydrogen capacity in Brazil: FRV is one of a number of companies that has already signed contracts with the Ceará government for the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives in the state. Its H2 Cumbuco project is set to expand to 2 GW of electrolyzer capacity in two phases. The project will use residual urban water treated by the local sanitation company. #Renewables #Energy #Technology

Is it possible to compare Australia with Germany/Europe? To be honest I think this is difficult because Australia has more space to add renewables and therefore a more steady power generation for the hydrogen production and I would guess that the actual local demand of hydrogen is less. BUT this may change when more hydrogen will be used for the back up power plants. What is your opinion on this? Would be great if you could share with me your thoughts in the comments.

PID reached for first green hydrogen valley in Portugal | REGA ENERGY has concluded a Preliminary Investment Decision (PID) for its first green hydrogen valley in Portugal, securing full off-taker capacity. The company will now launch a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) to leading Tier 1 EPC contractors, aiming to choose a partner and sign a contract for the project by the end of Q1 2024. The project comprises a 40 MW electrolyzer and a pipeline network for clients.   Recently, REGA Energy Group completed a funding round of €60 million, in addition to finalizing the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the plant and pipeline distribution network. The company has chosen alkaline technology for its electrolyzer and plans to finalize the pre-selection of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in the coming months.   This hydrogen valley project is the first of its kind in Portugal and has received certification as a Project of National Interest (PIN). The valley will leverage the existing local glass and cement industry hub, ensuring long-term predictability for energy and carbon prices.   The PID serves as a testament to the progress made by the group with industry players and contractors, ensuring the selection of optimal partners for the successful completion of this initial phase. It also paves the way for the upcoming execution phase of this project and other green hydrogen valleys currently in development in Portugal.

This decision aligns with broader European initiatives to ramp up renewable energy infrastructure.

European Hydrogen Bank - the Commission is awarding nearly €720 million to seven renewable hydrogen projects in Europe. The winning bidders will will receive a subsidy to bridge the price difference between their production costs and the market price for hydrogen, which is currently driven by non-renewable producers. "The 7 selected projects were the winners of an oversubscribed auction which attracted 132 bids in total. Together, the winning bidders plan to produce 1.58 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen over ten years, avoiding more than 10 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. They submitted bids between €0.37 and €0.48 per kilogram of renewable hydrogen produced and also met the other qualification requirements. The subsidy the 7 projects will receive ranges from €8 million to €245 million." "Through the new “Auctions-as-a-service” mechanism, €350 million in national funding has been made available by Germany for the highest-ranked projects in Germany which did not qualify for EU-level support, but which do meet the eligibility criteria. 📣 Two Portuguese projects on Renewable Energy from Galp and MadoquaPower2X have been awarded by the European Commission under the European Hydrogen Bank.   🤝 The European Commission awarded nearly €720 million to seven #renewable #hydrogen projects in Europe, selected through the first competitive bidding process under the #EuropeanHydrogenBank. Of the total amount awarded, the MadoquaPower2X project will take 245.2 million euros, and Galp 84.2 million. 🇵🇹 Together, the two Portuguese projects total 329.4 million euros, 45.8% of the total.   The remaining 389.7 million (54.2%) will be distributed among three more green hydrogen production projects in Spain, one in Norway and another in Finland.   The 7 selected projects were the winners of an oversubscribed auction which attracted 132 bids in total. Together, the winning bidders plan to produce 1.58 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen over ten years, avoiding more than 10 million tonnes of #CO2 emissions. They submitted bids between €0.37 and €0.48 per kilogram of renewable hydrogen produced, and also met the other qualification requirements. The subsidy the 7 projects will receive ranges from €8 million to €245 million.   ➡ The project headed by #Galp (Grey2Green II) has a capacity of 200 MW of electrolysers, with a price of 0.39 euros per kilogram of hydrogen. ➡ The project coordinated by #MadoquaPower2X (MP2X) has 500 megawatts of electricity and a price of 0.48 euros per kilogram. The seven selected projects will now start preparing their individual grant agreements with the CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency. These agreements are expected to be signed by November 2024 at the latest. Selected projects will have to start producing renewable hydrogen within a maximum of 5 years after signing the grant agreement.
