NEW FLOATING SOLAR PROJECT NEARSHORE IN TAIWAN - Discover Changbin FPV plant below 👇 Ciel & Terre Taiwan and HEXA Renewables completed one of the largest near-shore floating solar projects in Taiwan. In Changbin industrial zone, 280 MWp of floating solar have been designed and installed by Ciel & Terre Taiwan. A first project of 88 MWp was built in 2020 already, to which the 192 MWp of Changbin #3 and #4 extensions have just added up. The whole generates approximately 260GWh per annum, equivalent to energy consumption of 65,000 average households annually. One specifity of this project is the area it is installed on: protected near-shore but still intertidal area. It means sea water with two tides a day. Besides, occasional typhoons can happen. These central elements were obviously taken into acount in the design of this floating solar project, both of the floating solar platform and of its anchoring system. For the latter, Ciel & Terre Taiwan team, in collaboration with HEXA Renewables, successfully developed a patented technology composed of concrete pillars and H-beam system. The mobilised expertise of marine engineering companies, plastic mold companies, structural engineers, and hydraulic engineering experts ensures the reliability of this innovation. Recurrent Energy has secured BRL 343 million ($66 million) of non-recourse project financing from Banco do Nordeste do Brasil S.A. (BNB) for the 152 MW Jaiba III solar project in Brazil. “We are pleased to extend our long-standing partnership with BNB,” explained Ismael Guerrero Arias, CEO of Recurrent Energy. “Brazil’s steadfast commitment to sustainable public sector initiatives for clean and affordable solar energy infrastructure has solidified its position as the largest renewable energy market in Latin America. “BNB’s enduring participation in our solar portfolio reinforces our confidence in the long-term potential of Brazil’s renewable energy sector.” The 152 MWp Jaiba III project is currently under constuction and slated to come online in Q4 2024. Jaiba III will be financed over a 22-year period spanning both construction and operation phases. The inflation-adjusted debt is linked to the National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) Recurrent also secured a 15-year, inflation-adjusted PPA for Jaiba III through a private auction with USIMINAS, a flat steel company in Brazil. Recurrent owns or operates approximately 2 GWp of solar projects across Latin America, which are either in operation or planned to reach commercial operation date in 2024. #cleanenergy

The Aldoga Solar Farm, will be approximately 380 MW. This solar #photovoltaic (PV) facility, is located approximately 20 km north-west of Gladstone on the central #Queensland coast, #AUSTRALIA. Construction commencement: Q1 2024 Anticipated construction duration: 18 months ACCIONA Energía announced in November 2023 that it had signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Publicly owned energy company Stanwell Corporation Limited Corporation to purchase 100 % of the output from the Aldoga Solar Farm. Stanwell Corporation Limited plans to supply output from the Aldoga Solar Farm PPA to the proposed Central Queensland #Hydrogen (CQ-H2) Project, the Stanwell-led CQ-H2 consortium’s proposed 380 MW #hydrogen #electrolysis facility currently undergoing a Front End Engineering Design (FEED) study. A direct ‘behind-the-meter’ #connection from the Aldoga #Solar #Farm to the Stanwell-led CQ-#H2 consortium’s #hydrogen #electrolysis facility would enable the supply of renewable energy for production of green hydrogen. The project will connect to the grid network and National Electricity Market at the Larcom Creek Terminal Substation at 275kV. As with all projects, the Aldoga Solar Farm has gone through several iterations as part of planning, environment and grid reviews to develop a project that is feasible. With the decision to connect directly into the electricity grid and development revisions we’ve now settled on the final energy output size for the project at 380MW.

Statkraft Seeks Approval for 139.74 MW Arada Solar Plant in Castellón Norwegian energy company Statkraft has submitted requests for the Administrative Construction Authorization (AAC) and the Declaration of Public Utility (DUP) for the evacuation lines of its Arada Solar plant, a 139.74 MW project located in the municipalities of Chilches, Moncofa, and Vall d’Uixó in Castellón province. According to the announcement published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on June 1, the Arada Solar plant will have an installed capacity of 139.74 MW and a peak power of 160.67 MWp.
