🔦 👨💼 Employee Spotlight is a new section we introduce in our page in order to make our people and their expertise more visible to you. What better way to inaugurate this new section then, than introducing Martin Hofman, an important executive and an exceptional gentleman. An expert in engineering, logistics and supply chain management, Martin joined Streem Global in early 2021 as Chief of Quality & Engineering, having already accumulated more than twenty years of invaluable experience in logistics, supply chains and the distribution market. But even before joining Streem Global, he was no stranger to our country, having settled here since 2001. He is not particularly fond of stagnant situations, so he is always up for a new challenge, be that a mental or physical one. Professionally, he’s had his fair share of challenges. Still, what he deems the most demanding (and rewarding) project he has ever undertaken, is raising his children, especially as they get older and need to be guided through the final stages of adolescence into adulthood. He gets excited when things come together. “This could be a client accepting a proposed technical solution, the first pallet going into a new warehouse or seeing new processes being applied by the people. Especially if it involves a big project with many people, when all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place, it’s the best thing!” As far as his vision for Streem Global goes: “I like to believe that we all have the same vision for Streem! My role in this vision is to make sure that, in the end, Streem can be on a par with the big players in the 3PL market in terms of technology used, productivity achieved, and standards applied”. Martin enjoys running, hiking, puzzles and cinema. He’s fluent in English, Dutch, Greek and German, so his expertise is shared in many languages – an ideal trait in an industry that is of global scope. Great day with Sunrun Solar’s team ‘OHE from Honolulu Hawaii. ‘OHE means “bamboo” in the Hawaiian language. The leader Matt Heinz wisely named his team “‘OHE” because bamboo have the most unique quality, where they grow beneath the surface for 2 years before they can even be seen. Then they shoot up a staggering 2 inches per day once they hit the surface. There’s a lot that can be learned about what it takes to succeed in sales (and in life) by this incredible plant… Discipline, persistence, law of the harvest, don’t quit when it feels like you’re not making progress, and so much more. During more than 20 years building and leading sales teams, I’ve found there are 3 things that make up the highest performing salespeople. They are #1 Humble #2 Hungry #3 Smart (with people) And this team is filled with champions who are stellar in these 3 qualities! One team member Les Leong is Sunrun’s #1 producer in the entire company during this last quarter, of over 2,000 sales professionals 😳🦾 He’s an absolute champion, and I’m grateful to call him and the others my friend. During our time together as a team we talked about what it takes to succeed at the highest level in sales, with tools that actually work in real life. We went deep into how to overcome the single biggest barrier in sales; the thing that stops more sales from happening than anything else—FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt). And I taught the team 3 simple, and duplicatable tools I wrote about in my latest book “Pluck the FUD”— How to overcome fear, uncertainty and about to crush it in sales. At the end of the training, I was honored to be inducted into team ‘OHE, and they gave me one of their coveted hats I’m wearing in this picture.
