A great message for all who think you need money or 'big brainy' ideas to develop and/or expand a brand. MusicCounts accomplishes numerous goals from this one project: 1. Through community engagement, MusicCounts is effectively promoting music programs and their message to schoolchildren, educators, and parents simple card creation that costs them nothing to implement; 2. They are evoking a passion into school children to keep pursuing music, therefore creating a demand for more programs, and making it a priority for parents; 3. They are engaging in busy artists who are in the right frame of mind (who isn't after winning a Juno award) to do just about anything, therefore creating allies and partners for future projects; 4. MusicCounts is creating family viewership and engagement through the Junos Awards, fostering a sense of connection among the community; 5. By creating real life reactions and feelings from those who have climbed the Juno mountain of recognition. It shows that a simple card made from a passion for music and creativity can have an effect on even those who are stars in the music industry. Well done!

Scam Alert! 📣 (Commercial Radio) The U.S. is the only democratic country that does NOT pay artists for their music (the master recording) when their song is played on AM/FM radio. This has been the case for over 50 years (the U.S. skipped the meeting where the rates were set, and that was that). It's worth noting that digital radio, led by SiriusXM SiriusXM Canada DO pay artists for their work. The payouts are fair and significant. Below is a list of the main offenders, who spend millions on lobbyists who actively oppose legislation like the American Music Fairness Act (AMFA) but refuse to pay the artists whose songs they profit from: 1. iHeartMedia Annual revenue: Approximately $3.56 billion (2021) 2. CUMULUS MEDIA Annual revenue: Approximately $816 million (2021) 3. Audacy, Inc. Annual revenue: Approximately $1.22 billion (2021) 4. Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. If we’re being honest, when it comes to marketing in the classical music industry we all look and sound the same. Whether it’s the same copy-and-paste “delighted to announce” text, unimaginative event posters, or slide show season announcement videos, very little differentiates us from each other. This is something that affects the entire industry, from music students to international soloists, from amateur groups to professional orchestras.
