⭐ Together 23, UK Community Foundation Conference ⭐ Firstly, we want to take a moment to thank UK Community Foundations for hosting an outstanding conference, and to extend our appreciation to all who participated. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from your insights, opinions, and expertise. Over the past two days, members of South Yorkshire's Community Foundation participated in Together 23, UK Community Foundations' second biannual virtual conference with the theme of Philanthropy Forward: Navigating the Future. 🌟 The conference brought together community foundation staff, trustees, and experts in philanthropy to explore various topics and consider how to effectively support and advocate for communities in the future. Philanthropy plays a crucial role in supporting the growth of societies by providing funding, expertise, resources, and networks that enable individuals and organizations to effect change from the grassroots level. Not only that, but it also serves as a bridge to establish new relationships and networks that are sustainable and long-lasting. Together 23 offered an opportunity for the network to reflect on where they stand, where they need to be, and how to navigate the path of philanthropy to combat social inequality. The conference explored various topics such as shaping the future of philanthropy, the value and need for philanthropic advice, and the role of community foundations in the ecosystem of climate philanthropy. The conference's timing is critical, given the past and present global pandemic, financial and environmental crises, and the need for bold thinking around philanthropic strategies to elevate communities. Communities across the globe face systemic inequality, and community foundations, whether big or small, rural or urban, are united in their desire to address it. Philanthropy is one way to achieve this by building long-term support through endowment and establishing trustworthy relationships with philanthropists. Through community-led groups and charities, significant progress has been made in addressing human rights, systemic inequalities, and emerging threats such as climate change. This is a testament to the unwavering commitment and tireless efforts of individuals and their communities. It's a reminder that collective civil action and philanthropic giving through organizations like Community Foundations can make a significant impact. #Together23 #CommunityFoundations #Philanthropy #UKCommunityFoundation #SouthYorkshireFunding
