It is with a heavy, heavy heart that I must tell everyone that Jim Owens passed away this morning around 6:30 am. For those that knew Jim, knew that he was a kindhearted wonderful person who always had good things to say and dedicated himself to the Safety of every employee in this company. Jim was a well-respected leader and innovator in the world of safety and played a key role in new ideas and procedures for keeping our workers safe. On a personal note, Jim was the person who hired me here at Southland Concrete and he gave me the tools that I needed to succeed, and I will always be forever grateful for everything he taught me. Please keep the family in your prayers at this time of need. I will update everyone on funeral arrangements.
