Did you read our recent blog? Our colleague, Arturo Alvarez-Rosete, Senior Researcher at the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) has launched a blog titled 'What can integrated care learn from Pep Guardiola's modern European football? A midsummer holiday's read'. Health services have traditionally been thought, designed and implemented as self-sufficient units rather than parts of a unified health system. New services are not designed purposefully (tactically) to operate aligned with the rest of the system components. The metaphor of a football pitch can help visualise this misconception. We're excited to share that our CEO, Ella Gudwin, has joined the Board of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB). With over two decades of experience in global health strategies, Ella will contribute her expertise in international development and eye health to support IAPB's mission of making eye care accessible and affordable for all. IAPB is the overarching alliance for the global eye health sector, with more than 200 organizations in 100+ countries working together for a world where everyone has universal access to eye care. VisionSpring's organizational growth has been in tandem with achievements in the eye health sector, led by the work of the IAPB. In just the past few years, the United Nations has passed their first-ever resolution to eye health, the World Health Organization has committed to firm targets for eyeglasses and cataract coverage, and the UN has added eye health into their declaration on Universal Health Coverage. These remarkable advancements in our sector are a reminder that, "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together." Ella's appointment to the IAPB Board comes at the same time that VisionSpring has upgraded our membership of the global alliance to a Band A Member, reaffirmed our commitment to the IAPB. We are excited about the journey ahead and the continued progress on solving the issue of uncorrected blurry vision. #SocialImpact #SocialEntrepreneurship #Vision #Leadership #Health

Helping health companies build trust by sharing the science behind their product in an accurate and engaging way
“Get featured in media. Make mom proud.” Getting recognition for health gaps that truly matter. Today, I'm on the front page of HBVL magazine in Belgium. In 12 months, I’ve built more than I could have ever imagined— - Founded the first-ever science communication agency in preventive healthcare. - Built a team of scientists, mentored by industry experts. - Gained trust from industry leaders. But, it all started from— - A hopeless health situation from the doctors. - Dealing with multiple chronic conditions. - Years of physical and social struggles. My advice for you, reading this today: Don’t let your weaknesses stop you from reaching your full potential. Turn them into strengths and contribute your unique gifts to the world. Remember, so much can happen in just a year! Special thanks to Miranda Gijsen for supporting my journey, and to Het Belang van Limburg for the front-page feature. A full circle moment today. PS: I’ll link the article in the comments! PSS: What’s your next goal?
