Meet Dylan Alcott, an exceptional Australian athlete who transcends the boundaries of sports as a wheelchair basketball and tennis player. His remarkable achievements include numerous Grand Slam titles in tennis and gold medals in both basketball and tennis at the Paralympics. Beyond the court, Alcott stands as a motivational speaker and a passionate advocate for disability rights. His quote encourages us to "challenge your unconscious biases, your negative perception, and lift your expectation of what you think people with disabilities can do." In his empowering words, Alcott challenges us to confront our unconscious biases, reshape negative perceptions, and elevate our expectations of what individuals with disabilities can achieve. His wisdom resonates as a beacon, urging us to embrace inclusivity, dismantle barriers, and recognize the boundless potential within each person. It’s National Inclusion Week – hurrah to organisations working tirelessly to ensure everyone feels they belong, have a place, have a voice, are of importance. One thing I would urge you to ponder on whilst you celebrate how far your organisation has come in terms of inclusion – who have you forgotten? Who does not feature within your inclusion agenda? Who is not being represented? Who is feeling excluded? One to ponder.

It's National Inclusion Week! 🎉 This is a time to celebrate diversity and promote inclusion in our communities and workplaces. National Inclusion Week was first launched in 2019 by the charity Inclusive Employers. It is a fantastic opportunity to recognize the importance of creating an inclusive environment that allows all people to be accepted, respected and valued. 💚 This year's theme is 'Don't Stand By', encouraging us all to take action and speak out against any form of discrimination or bullying. We can all do our bit to make sure everyone feels welcome and included, no matter their background or identity. 🤝 There are lots of ways to celebrate National Inclusion Week. From hosting a virtual event or raising awareness of the importance of inclusion, to simply having conversations with colleagues and friends about why it matters. 💬 Let's all come together to make sure everyone in our workplaces and communities is included and respected. #InclusionWeek #DontStandBy #BeInclusive
