How many times should you recognize your people? How much is too much? How little is too little? Our research suggests that people need to be recognized 35x per year to achieve a high recognition integration culture. That seems like a lot, but when you break it down, it's saying 'thank you' roughly three times a month across a variety of ways: - Informal (Non-Monetary): high fives, quick teams/text message, etc. - Formal (Monetary): e-cards, award nominations, career celebrations - Companywide: celebrate together about once a quarter As Carolynn Ryan, senior VP of people and CHRO at BC Hydro suggests in Emily Douglas (she/her)'s HRD Canada's article -- it's about making sure that the recognition is personal, meaningful and purposeful across various levels of contribution. Having a blend of tech and human touch allows you to do this at scale. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gCSwj5jz

As we wrap up the celebrations for International week of deaf people, I want to share a part of my experience and journey that has shaped my perspective on leadership and inclusivity. Working with the deaf community has been an incredible privilege and humbling experience. One of my key take homes from this experience is the importance of inclusive leadership. 👉🏼Leadership is not just about leading a team and giving directions but about creating an environment where every voice is heard and valued. 👉🏼Effective leadership goes beyond traditional communication,it is about empathy and inclusion. 👉🏼Leadership is not a one size fits all concept, Leadership is adapting and valuing diversity. This years International week of deaf people reminds me that diversity is our strength. We need to celebrate the beauty that comes from embracing different ways of communication. We need to break down Barriers and build a world where everyone’s voice , whether spoken or signed is heard and respected. Let’s Embrace Inclusivity and diversity. #EffectiveLeadership

Let's continue our search for values with RECOGNITION. Recognition frequently goes unnoticed, yet it plays an integral role in fostering a culture of appreciation in any organisation. It’s about seeing and highlighting the achievements of your team, no matter how small. But recognition isn't just about the workplace. It also applies to our relationships, friendships, and even our interactions with strangers. By acknowledging the efforts that people make, we instil a sense of worth and belonging. Imagine the boost in morale and motivation if we made a habit of recognising even the smallest victories. Start today. Look around you. Recognise, appreciate, and celebrate. Because everyone deserves to feel valued.

There’s no doubt about the importance of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) in creating more successful organizations, the two go hand-in-hand. However, it’s not enough to have diverse employees, real progress comes only when we’re inclusive and when people feel that they belong. As we celebrate the 8th Global D&I Experience month at MSD, some of our colleague from EEMEA region say what D&I means to them in one word in a display of how we are transforming the world as forces of change.

I help leaders make it safe and worth it for people to speak up | Author of “Speak-Up Culture: When Leaders Truly Listen, People Step Up” 🗣️🆙 | Leadership & Culture Speaker, Coach & Advisor
The PRODUCTIVE thing to do is to sit down and ENGAGE. In a divisive world that is seemingly forcing us to pick a side, maybe we don’t have to. Maybe, just maybe, we could identify our human values and choose those. Maybe we can strive for coexistence and unity. I stand for humanity. I stand for human decency. I stand for freedom. I stand for acceptance. I let those values guide me, my actions and choices. I hope you’ll have your values guide you too. That’s what it means to live and lead with authenticity and integrity. Have a safe, peaceful, productive and engaging weekend 🍻 Don’t show up to hate. Show up to find commonality, build bridges and enagage. #Coexist #Engage #Unity #Together
