Have you ever received a package from your company and thought, "Oh yeah," only to find the gift you received is an advertisement?!? Recently, the trend of "gifting" company swag as a form of employee appreciation has gained popularity, especially as an end-of-the-year gift. While I'm sure the gestures are well intended, it's crucial to recognize that company swag is NOT a substitute for thoughtful employee gifts. A genuine expression of gratitude can better engage and reward your workforce.
