Acupuncture points for knee pain According to practitioners of TCM, there are around 361 acupuncture points in the human body. These points run along meridians, which practitioners describe as pathways for life energy to flow through the body. These meridians may correspond to peripheral nerves. Three health modalities I have been using lately are therapeutic massage, chiropractic adjustments and Accupuncture. Acupuncture is a health modality I have been using monthly for nearly 2 years now. It’s an ancient technique from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Very find needles are gently tapped into he skin at certain meridian points on the body. Meridians are lines that travel vertically through the body.There is no pain when the needles are inserted and you can’t feel the needles throughout the treatment. Once the needles are inserted at the specific meridian points, it allows Chi, or energy, to flow. I am very in tune with my body and I can actually feel the chi flow, generally in my feet or leg areas. It feels like tiny bubbles moving. It’s the coolest thing. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for nausea and pain caused by surgery or pharmaceuticals, addiction, headaches, menstrual cramps, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, osteoarthritis, back pain, carpal tunnel, asthma, joint or muscle injuries and liver congestion, to name a few.
