#COASTAL_BLUE_CARBON 👉🏾 Coastal blue carbon is carbon stored in the vegetation and soils of #mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrasses. It is estimated that the average annual #carbon_sequestration rate for mangroves averages between 6 to 8 Mg CO₂e/ha (tons of CO₂ equivalent per hectare). These rates are about two to four times greater than global rates observed in mature tropical forests Studies indicate that, mangroves can sequester #four_times more #carbon than rainforests can. Most of this carbon is stored in the soil beneath mangrove trees. (Alongi, D. M. (2014). Carbon cycling and storage in mangrove forests) Another_reason_to_prioritize #RESTORATION_REGENERATION_GROWING #MANGROOVE_ECOSYSTEMS GLOBALLY🌳🌳 #enhance_carbon_sinks #climate_action

Oceanic giants of the seas Helping this manta trapped into fishing nets Interesting facts about manta rays include ✔️the word “Manta” which takes the meaning of blanket or cloak in Spanish. ✔️ They are also known as devil rays and are a common tattoo representing graceful strength and wisdom. ✔️Manta ray have the largest brain relative to body size of all known species of fish. ✔️Their diet consists of plankton, small fish and small crustaceans like krill. ✔️The largest ever recorded manta rays is 9.1 metres (30 feet), which is wider than a giraffe is tall. ✳️ Stop throwing garbage plastics or let fishing nets to the sea to the sea ✔️ The other living beings are not to blame 🌎 Let’s Make Our World A Greener Place.. Polar bears, bees and trees and more: URSA actively supports the International Day of Climate Action on 24 October. The International Day of Climate Action raises awareness of the effects of climate change around the world and helps empower action. We tackle climate change all year round. Here are some examples: • Protecting polar bears in the Arctic. • Nurturing bees at our site in Desselgem, Belgium. • Planting trees that include hornbeam, gingko and maple to reduce CO2 emissions. The picture shows the headquarters of URSA SLOVENIA where this initiative took place, in cooperation with the City of Novo Mesto. Every year, day in and day out, our products help reduce carbon emissions and save energy. We Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and help our partners and suppliers use the three Rs in their business. Our products help protect the homes, schools and workplaces of the young generation driving awareness of climate change. And we’re always looking for ways to do more. https://lnkd.in/dKy_FbQy #climateactionday #sustainability #climatechange

🌍 Happy World Peatlands Day! 🌍 Peatlands are one of the largest terrestrial carbon stores on Earth. Although peatlands cover only 3% of the world's land surface, they store an incredible 600 gigatons of carbon below their surface. This invisible but vital carbon sink is twice the amount stored by all the world's forests and accounts for up to 44% of all the carbon in our soils! These invisible heroes play a critical role in regulating our climate and supporting life on our planet. As we celebrate World Peatlands Day, let's take a moment to recognize the importance of what we can't see. Today, let's honor and protect these essential ecosystems that are so vital to life on Earth. What else can you do now? Be part of our MOORATHON 2024! Register on moorathon.de as an athlete or as a company and be part of a great movement! Let's make a move for peatland protection. #WorldPeatlandsDay #moorathon #CarbonStorage #ClimateAction
