Your purpose in life often shows itself during childhood We all go through our childhood being obsessed with something, whether we realize it. At such a young age, the mind knows no judgement. All we want is doing something we enjoy doing. Among the things that we play during childhood, there is one thing that is special. We can't stop thinking about it and we want to do it all the time. That one special thing is often something we love unconditionally. We want it to become part of ourselves. So we put in more than 10,000 hours and at the end come out as a master. This is the ideal for doing things that give meaning to our life. Think back in time. What were you obsessed about? What were the activities whether physical or mental that distorted your perception of time because you attended to it all the time? This post is inspired by the great Mastery book written by Robert Greene.

Since we all gain our bearings based on our relationships to others, to our surroundings, and through our inner environment, the lighthouses we use to determine where we are can be vastly different. They can change depending on the phase of life we're in, if we're facing specific challenges, or when people move in or out of our lives. The world has some rough things going on. It can be super challenging to navigate the currents and gauge the depths when viewing them from only one perspective. For example, cultural or family expectations can be one way self-worth or success is measured. Another could be experiences we've had in school, in work, or through personal relationships. Yet another is the deep longings from within and how our inner voice or soul wants to be heard. Sometimes, we need assistance from a therapist, a coach, or psychologist to nurture us through the storms and help us realize where our lighthouses are. Taking many perspectives to discover what feels most true is a process, a practice. Consider what or who you use as a grounding tether in your life. Where do you find stillness when you need a focal point? Do you have a lighthouse that you know is always there beyond the waves and tumult that can guide you back home to yourself? If not, reach out to someone you trust to consider what your next movements might be. Love to you all. 💙💚💜

Your time is precious. It's valuable beyond compare, because it's the basis of what you are as a person. It's the one true indicator of what is valuable to. What you spend time on is what you value. Because of this, you're reluctant to sit around and pay attention to your breath. It has no immediate effects. You don't have time for that. But in reality, you create time. You sharpen your focus. You learn to direct your attention. Because time alone isn't important. It's what you make with your time. If you're attention is scattered, time runs through you're fingers like water without a container. To make your time count, you need to pay attention. You need to collect it and hold it on what matters most. Else you will miss it when your child speaks their first word, when you could have said I love you to your mum, when you could have said no to some time draining activity, or simply noticed your last sunset. Learn to guard your attention. Learn to make your time count. Because only time and attention illuminate your life with what matters most to it.

Build your life the way you see fit. take on advice with a smile, but sift through it keeping only what matches your values and dreams. Never let it wobble your confidence. Believe you’re right where you need to be. Life’s a personal journey, so take advice on board but at the end of the day, it’s your call. Always back yourself.

Start your day off right! Create a morning routine that you do every day to help you feel accomplished from the get-go. Doing something simple like this can truly change your life.

Going through this process, I had lots of realizations. One of those is this: I had to find a way to get comfortable being uncomfortable. Read that again. “…find a way to get comfortable being uncomfortable.” Sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? Like a contradictory statement. I mean, how can anyone be comfortable when they’re UNcomfortable? The answer is, you find a way. Part of it is dealing with the uncomfortableness head-on; by not shying away from it. Part of it is intentional de-sensitization; by getting to know it so well that it so much it no longer holds any surprises. Part of getting to know it is by defining its parameters and coming to an understanding of exactly how much power it has over you. I promise you, it has limits; it’s finite. Doesn’t feel like it in the beginning, sure; but that’s truth right there. That lesson, learning how to be comfortable being uncomfortable, was what catapulted me forward. Looking back on it now, I can see now that it was literally a life and death struggle for me then; and I believe understanding this was key to me choosing life.
