We are honoured to have been named one of the 100 most sustainable companies in the world by TIME Magazine!
The rankings, which were released this week by the American news magazine and Statista, surveyed over 5,000 of the world’s largest and most influential companies. Each was evaluated on criteria that included external sustainability ratings, adherence to the UN Global Compact and alignment with the Science Based Targets initiative.
As a part of our Better Places plan, URW has pledged to reach carbon neutrality on scopes 1 & 2 by 2030, and across all scopes by 2050, including achieving -90% GHG emission reduction on scopes 1 & 2 by 2030, and -90% on scopes 1, 2 & 3 by 2050. Other targets include implementing renaturation projects on 100% of our assets, recycling 70% of our waste and reducing water consumption intensity by 20%, all three by 2030 (vs. 2019).
A huge thank you to TIME Magazine and Statista for launching this initiative and providing a clear benchmark for us and other companies to continue our environmental transition.
