Patenting 101 : How Inventions Look in Patents vs. Reality (Patent Descriptions Make Genius Look Boring) When patenting, it’s not just about describing the invention’s appearance. It's about converting its physical form into precise text and images. What does this mean? 1. 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Turning physical characteristics into descriptive text.   2. 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀: Defining unique features and protection scope. Examples: - 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗯: Described as a high-resistance carbon filament lamp secured by metallic wires, focusing on technical details over appearance. - 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: For laypeople, it’s just a machine. In patents, detailed descriptions of its elements and functions. - 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲: Described as a system using undulatory electric currents to vibrate a receiver, focusing on functionality over looks. Why is this important? Clear, detailed textual representation ensures proper communication and protection of the invention. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻g: 1.
