This picture is more than an Argentinian and a Colombian laughing. This is the symbol of how Latin-Americans can work together to propel our region forward 🇨🇴🇦🇷🇧🇷🇲🇽 The story of how Marcial Gonzalez Fraga and I became friends is funny. We were both content creators, both admired each other, but never met before. We actually met competing for the VC role at Latitud two years ago, who I was introduced by another good Latam friend in the startup world Enzo Cavalie (who coincidentally also happened to do a brief path on Latitud!) And guess what.. compete against Argentinians and you will probably lose 😂🇦🇷 But it didn’t stop there. A couple months later I joined the team to do community products and ended up doing…. 🥁 Legal products for VC backed founders! (Whut?) I know, but life operates in funny ways, and I’ll do whatever is needed to help founders build Anyhow, back to today! Where are we now? Working together with the single mission of pushing founders forward. Marcial and I both talk to a ton of talented founders everyday, Marcial deploys the checks, I help them set up their companies in the right way so they can receive them (ok, that’s a actually overly simplistic, nor does he deploy the $$ alone, nor do I do the work, we have outstanding teams at Latitud 😃) But something is very real: We work together to propel the region forward. Although he lives in Argentina, and I live in Brazil, this is our mood every time we come together in a country to help founders, This month that will be Brazil again at the VAMOS LATAM SUMMIT 🇧🇷 VLS is, simply put, one of Latam’s most important events where founders and investors meet and learn. In 2023, we scaled beyond Lithuania's borders, not only through partnerships but also by exporting our operational model and successfully implementing specific projects! 🚀 🟪We're breaking new ground with an agreement signed with the European Commission. Our GovTech Challenge Series model is set to transcend Lithuania, extending its influence to municipalities in Spain, Greece, and Sweden. Securing the project in 2023 was a major achievement, and we're gearing up for the practical implementation scheduled for 2024-2025. 🟪For the third consecutive year, we've successfully executed the Global Scale-up Program (GSUP) for green GovTech startups. This year saw participation from 18 companies representing 13 countries, including Lithuania. The pinnacle of the program, Demo Day, unfolded at the UN COP28 UAE conference in Dubai, showcasing the innovation and impact of these startups on a global stage. 🟪Putting our expertise to work, we've intensified efforts to consult with other countries on establishing their GovTech Labs. Five countries have already received initial consultations, setting them on the path to adapt our GovTech methodologies in their unique contexts.
