The 1992-founded ACMI, charter and cargo airline SmartLynx Airlines Ltd has entered into a long-term agreement to use Lufthansa Systems' mobile charting application – Lido mPilot. To improve operational efficiency, the Latvia-based airline has transitioned to Lufthansa Systems for its quality data and user-friendly interface. "ACMI is very complex due to its constantly changing network, and it is crucial for the airline to have efficient tools to ensure smooth daily operations. In-flight operations, we do not settle with how we did business yesterday but are constantly looking for improvements, adding value to our business and functionality for the end users. Apps used in the flight deck must be intuitive and well-designed. With mPilot, we can access relevant, precise, and timely information, which is critical for our operations," said Lasse Bay Hansen, Group Director of Flight Operations at SmartLynx Airlines, in an official release. A few weeks ago, Iberia officially became the new global launch customer for the Airbus A321XLR, thanks to Aer Lingus’ ongoing pay dispute with pilots. There’s now an additional update, as it looks like we now know what to expect onboard Iberia’s new long haul, narrow body jets. Iberia will be first airline to fly Airbus A321XLR In June 2019, Airbus formally launched the Airbus A321XLR, which will be the world’s longest range narrow body jet. This aircraft is based on the Airbus A321 family of aircraft, but features even more incremental range improvement over the A321neo and A321LR (which already have more range than the A321ceo). Airlines have ordered hundreds of these jets, as they look for long range, low capacity jets, that can open up all kinds of new markets. The first A321XLR is expected to be delivered to airlines in Q3 2024. https://lnkd.in/g7NiXmEE

Today, JetSMART Airlines turns out to be South America’s largest ULCC by the number of aircraft registered. I have to say, this is not the most important accomplishment; it is only one of them to mention. But something that I want to highlight is the time JetSMART took to achieve this. The airline started operations in 2017. Then, as is known by everyone, COVID hit in 2020, and so the growth of the airline had a small distraction, which was very well handled by the team to be able to continue the path of a fast-growing successful airline. Today, after less than 10 years, the airline can highlight this achievement. The airline has a mix of very efficient and modern Airbus A320 and A321. The last one coming to the fleet, out of the Airbus plant in Toulouse, will be the 30th one, and it will be an A320neo with a very nice “Tucan Toco” painted on its tail. For me, it is very important to mention that being part of JetSMART is not only being part of an ultra-low-cost carrier with a fast-growing plan but also is being part of a TEAM that works together and succeeds together. STARLUX orders A350F and more A330neo widebodies STARLUX Airlines of Taiwan has placed a firm order for five all-new A350F freighters and three more A330neo widebody aircraft. The agreement was signed at the Singapore Airshow by KW Chang, Chairman of STARLUX Airlines and Christian Scherer, CEO of the Commercial Aircraft business of Airbus. “STARLUX Airlines has continuously nurtured the cargo market since its inception, capitalising on the strategic advantages offered by Taiwan’s geographical location,” said STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai. “With this order, STARLUX will become the first Taiwanese airline to operate the next-generation A350F widebody freighter. In an era of climate change, the A350F has unbeatable efficiency in terms of fuel burn, CO2 emissions, and economics, offering significant energy-saving and carbon reduction benefits. It not only meets customer requirements for carbon reduction but also aligns with STARLUX’s ESG plan to achieve zero emissions by 2050. Additionally, the three new A330neos will strengthen our fleet advantage and provide greater flexibility for passenger operations.” STARLUX Airlines operates an all-Airbus passenger fleet that already includes the A350-900, A330neo and A321neo. The A350F will be operated by STARLUX Cargo on some of the world’s busiest cargo routes. Currently under development, the A350F can carry a payload of up to 111 tonnes and can fly up to 4,700nm/8,700km at significantly lower cost than any other freighter available today. The A350F will enable STARLUX Cargo to serve all heavy cargo markets around the world. Meanwhile, the additional order for the A330neo will see STARLUX Airlines continue to build one of the most modern and efficient passenger fleets, offering the highest levels of in-flight comfort. The incremental order will boost its A330neo fleet from four to seven, with the aircraft featuring a premium two-class cabin comprising 28 business class seats and 269 economy class seats. At the end of January, the latest generation A350 Family had won over 1,200 orders from 57 customers worldwide, including 50 for the A350F from nine leading cargo airlines. In the mid-size category, the A330neo Family continues to gain momentum, with nearly 300 firm orders from 28 customers. @Airbus #SGAirshow2024 #A350F #A330neo @STARLUX Airlines
