In honor of National Recovery Month, I choose to recover and share my recovery story. My addiction nearly took my life, introducing me to a world I never imagined possible, including the horrors of human trafficking that almost ended me. My journey has been nothing short of miraculous, and I am forever grateful to God for restoring my life. 💜 Some of the most profound moments in my recovery include earning a college education, having a beautiful family, rededicating my life to Christ, being part of a loving church community, and serving in a ministry that touches countless lives across the world. It has also given me an opportunity to make a difference on a national level in workforce readiness and development. Recovery allowed me to represent myself through both of my pardons and now allowing me to support others through the pardon process. It has allowed me to support survivors of human trafficking. I've dedicated myself to advocating for others and working towards a more rehabilitative criminal justice system. To me, recovery is about restoring people every day, showing them that hope and healing are possible. It’s about offering compassion instead of condemnation. Recovery is possible! I am so grateful for my recovery and for the recovery of so many others. I see you, I value you, and I love you. Keep going! Love, Stephanie 💜
