Immersed in Discovery 🌍 From day one, stepping into Godrej Agrovets felt like stepping into a world of endless possibilities. Guided by a welcoming manager, I delved into understanding the diverse businesses under the Godrej Agrovets umbrella. 💼 My journey began with researching their operations, understanding business strategies, and crafting plans to enhance inclusion by hiring persons with disabilities (PWD). 🚀 Diving Deep into Diversity 📊 As the weeks progressed, I found myself diving deeper into the realm of diversity and inclusion. I delved into researching best practices for PWD hiring, creating insightful presentations, and addressing the pressing issue of women's attrition in corporate settings. 🌟 Through data analysis and heartfelt interviews, I gained invaluable insights into the challenges women face and the significance of fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. 💪 Unleashing the Power of Policies 📑 A significant portion of my internship was dedicated to policy analysis and enhancement. 💡 Reviewing existing policies to ensure they were gender-neutral and aligned with principles of diversity and inclusion became my mission. It was a meticulous process, but one that underscored the vital role policies play in shaping organizational culture. 🌈 A Treasure Trove of Insights 💡 Beyond acquiring practical skills like mastering pivot tables and refining interview techniques, this internship was a journey of personal growth. 💼 It provided me with a deeper understanding of the power of diversity and inclusion in driving organizational success. 🚀 Why I Chose This Journey 💭 This internship resonated with me because it aligned perfectly with my passion for HR management and diversity initiatives. 🌟 Reflecting on My Consulting Internship at Brockmann & Büchner Unternehmensberatung 🌟 I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to work with such amazing people over the last 8 weeks. The experience has been a high learning curve and a chance to make a real impact. Here are my key takeaways: 1. Get to Know Your Teammates as People: Appreciate those around you! Taking responsibility for getting the job done is crucial. Learn to excel in your role, just like in soccer—embrace your position and bring the necessary grit to excel. 2. Put Yourself in Others' Shoes: See your role as a consultant as more than just ticking boxes. Choose to tackle challenging problems and ask the hard questions. Understand the perspectives of the people you are working with. 3. Think a Step Ahead: Understand the problem and expand on the solution for the client's benefit. Only by grasping the bigger picture can you direct your actions effectively and elevate your work. 4. Structured Thinking: Integrate a consultant's framework into your daily life. Document your thoughts and use the right tools so others can follow your process. Make your ideas MECE (Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive). It was an amazing experience, and I can’t remember a day when I didn’t walk into the office with a smile on my face in the morning—a smile caused by my colleagues, the projects, and the work environment we were operating in. The best part of my job... or of anything I have ever done really, is seeing the people I care about build in their own confidence and succeed. Empathy and trust in others are hands down the most important skills I have in my carpet bag of Mary Poppins Marketing tricks and I will continue to preach about this until I can no longer talk or write. To have a successful team, you don't need to watch someone over their shoulder, you don't need to email, text, or call daily. What you need, is to give them the confidence that they "got this" by sharing knowledge, giving perspective, and then leaving them to show YOU how it's done. It's that simple folks. Micromanaging does not work. Ever. Giving critical feedback without sharing the how/why/what/ can be improved, does not work. Ever. It's the same with interns, or those who are just starting out. Give them the tools they need and let them fly! Okay... preaching over, and back to my amazing intern Manya Jain If you don't follow her yet you should!
