So, I'm hearing that the promoter of the PPP INTEGRIS Pension Management Corp. is making more claims today that his version of the IPP is superior to the IPP. This is factually incorrect as they are the same thing. I will also remind them that I stand ready to debate him on this topic publically at any time and defend my claims as factual. I’m skeptical that traditional corporate #pensions are going to re-emerge. Most #DB plans are essentially poorly diversified insurance cos without scale. Accounting rules require mark-to-market to flow thru P/L. No public board, CEO or CFO wants to make their earnings subject to interest rate risk. Also - there are plenty of solutions to create #lifetimeincome within and from defined contribution plans.

Pension planning is vitally important - and the sooner you start, the better the outcome. But, says Tarnia Elsworth, director at TP Financial Solutions, there are still many people that don’t seek advice until retirement is in sight – if at all. "We see this from all the clients aged 55 and over contacting us for support for the first time," writes Tarnia in Money Marketing. "I often think about these clients and how different their circumstances would have been if they had been more proactive with their pension planning. Not only that, but the years of peace of mind they’ve missed out on."
